Sam Asghari addresses rumors of Britney Spears marital issues after ditching rings

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are still going strong despite being seen without their wedding rings recently, Page Six has exclusively learned.

The actor's rep, Brandon Cohen, confirms to us that his client is not having marital issues with the pop star.

The BAC Talent publicist adds that Asghari, 29, simply took off his ring because he is filming a movie, reaffirming what a source previously told Page Six.

Meanwhile, reps for Spears, 41, have not responded to multiple requests for comment.

The Grammy winner and her husband sparked concerns about their marriage when they were both spotted without the symbolic piece of jewelry.

Spears was seen arriving at LAX Airport Tuesday in photos obtained by the Daily Mail without her giant rock ahead of a trip to Mexico with her pal and manager, Cade Hudson.

We're told that Asghari did not join the vacation because he is busy with work.

His rep also points out that the "Family Business" actor posted a photo of himself on his Instagram Stories Thursday with his wedding band clearly visible.

Spears and Asghari tied the knot in a star-studded wedding at the "Toxic" singer's home in California in June 2022.

Since then, the couple have had to shut down multiple misconceptions about their marriage.

In December 2022, Asghari denied that he has ever been "controlling" of the "Oops! … I Did It Again" singer.

"No, I don't even control what we have for dinner," the former personal trainer joked to TMZ at the time.

"You know, in the past, there has been a lot of stuff going on, so I understand where [fans are] coming from."

He added, "They're just being protective. If anything, they're being good fans."

Then, in February, the "Black Monday" actor reiterated that his wife is in "full control" of her life amid reports that people in her inner circle were planning an intervention for her.

"My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances," Asghari said at the time.

Spears' well-being has been a focal point for many of her die-hard fans after her 13-year conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.

However, the "Crossroads" star recently slammed fans who went "too far" by asking cops to perform a wellness check on her, pleading, "During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward."

Britney Spears is no stranger to the rumor mill, and well-meaning fans seem to constantly scrutinize every detail of her life. Whether it's her nude social media posts, her dancing or her house, many are curious about exactly what is going on in the pop icon's life. Comments have been disabled from Brit Brit's Instagram, so there's no diving into all of the theories about why she's vacationing with her longtime friend and not her husband, and all of the different reasons why she might have left her wedding ring behind. Only adding fuel to the fire was that the Daily Mail also reported that Sam Asghari was photographed running errands on March 30 without his wedding band.

This is not the first time Britney Spears' husband has faced questions from fans about not wearing a ring, and from his own Instagram posts it seems like going ringless might be a normal practice for him. 

These photos definitely aren't definitive proof that there's trouble in paradise for the longtime couple less than a year after their fairytale wedding. However, Britney Spears' vacation sans Sam Asghari comes after some seemingly worrisome moments over the past couple of months. 

There were reports in February that the fitness trainer was among loved ones who had scheduled an intervention for the singer to help with a substance abuse issue but that it did not go over as planned. That followed an incident in January, when she was seen on video storming out of a restaurant (though that was probably not unwarranted) and another occurrence in December, when Britney Spears became furious with a Jack in the Box worker who tried to console her when she cried in the drive- thru. 

Sam Asghari and Britney did seem to be pretty loved up on his birthday earlier in March, however, when the "Toxic" singer smashed a cake into her husband's face, and he has consistently defended his wife's actions — even when he doesn't agree with them — complimented her talents and dispeled conspiracy theories.

While we love to see Britney Spears living her best life on the beach, her fans certainly hope she is also happy in her marriage, and only time will tell if the couple really is in a rough patch or not.

Sam was curiously also seen without his ring as he left a Thousand Oaks gym on Thursday, March 30 — fueling rumors that his 9 month marriage is on the rocks. He was dressed casually in a tight black t-shirt with camo pants and a blush pair of sneakers, and wore two watches: an Apple Watch on his right wrist and a stainless steel one on his left. HollywoodLife has reached out to reps for comment about the status of the couple's relationship. A source has also told HL that there is "no split" on the horizon.

Curiously, Sam appeared to respond to the reports and photos with a selfie shared to his Instagram story on March 30 with his ring on. The professional trainer turned actor was seated on a plane, but did not reveal where he was headed.

Of course, it's also possible he could be also heading to Hawaii to meet up with Britney, who has been there for two days already. So far, the "Womanizer" singer seems to be having an amazing vacation from her posts — including one where she soaked up the sun while frolicking through the waves. She sported a bright green and pink bikini top with an animal print bottom in the short clip edited on Videoshop, set to a Bad Bunny remix.

Britney and Sam initially began dating in 2016 after meeting on the set of her "Slumber Party" video, which was one of her singles from Glory. The two weathered her conservatorship through the first few years of their romance, finally getting engaged in Sept. 2021 and married nine months later in June 2022. Britney described her special day in Thousand Oaks, California as a "fairy tale" on Instagram. Sadly, she also had a miscarriage in May before walking down the aisle.

Britney kept comfy for her travels as she layered a baggy plaid button-up shirt over a green and white floral top before getting out of the car.

She also rocked a pair of white linen shorts and strolled across the tarmac in brown Birkenstock sandals.

The performer had an adorable teddy bear in one hand and an orange leather designer purse in the other.

Her long, blonde hair was worn down and she kept sunglasses over her eyes as she was escorted towards the private plane.

Britney carefully climbed up the jet's stairs before disappearing inside.

She looked ready to get out of Los Angeles as it's been speculated that her and Sam's relationship may be on the rocks. 

The couple's marriage has been under scrutiny as of late, and earlier this month Britney raised eyebrows with a post remembering the good times before her third marriage.

In the video, which showed her and Sam during a trip to Mexico, Britney reflected on being 'so happy' in the trip taken prior to their lavish nuptials. 'Throwback to Mexico… before I got married â€� � so happy and silly here!!!'

The caption did not go unnoticed by fans, who commented: 'So she's not happy now?'

'She's obvs not happy now, but that also makes me say... the marriage still seems shammy,' another Instagram user posted.

Sam and Britney's June 2022 was a lavish affair held at the superstar's home in Thousand Oaks.

It was attended by a slew of A-list stars, such as Paris Hilton, Madonna, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore.

Britney's estranged family - including her controversial parents Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears - were reportedly uninvited.

The wedding came 15 years after her failed second marriage to former back-up dancer Kevin Federline, which ended in 2007.

The former couple share sons Jayden, 16, and Sean Preston, 17, though Britne y has been experiencing a strained relationship with her two children in recent years.

Just last week, Sam reaped praise on Britney as he spoke about her acting abilities while condemning her now terminated conservatorship.

He did so during an impromptu interview with TMZ on Thursday, March 23, who had briefly returned to LA amid shooting his top-secret directorial film debut.

The videographer asked Sam if he would like to star opposite his wife in an upcoming 'rom-com.' 

'I hope so, I hope so, I think she's a great actress' Sam gushed. 'I hope one day, that'll be a dream come true.'

He also hinted at maybe writing the perfect script for him and Britney, himself. 

Sam also revealed that Britney is 'doing great' despite reports that her family had staged a failed intervention earlier thi s year which she has staunchly denied.

The hunky actor was then asked about Britney's 13-year conservatorship and if there are 'any merits' to being in that sort of an arrangement.  

'Absolutely not,' Sam fired back. 'The conservatorship was a total bullsh** move.

'It should've never happened. It should be illegal to put anybody under the conservatorship and that was the worst thing that has ever happened in this country.'

'This is the country of freedom,' he continued. 'And that should never have happened, especially to her.'

Fans have voiced their concerns over Britney's mental health in recent months after she allegedly suffered a 'manic meltdown' while dining at a popular restaurant in Woodland Hills with Sam.

TMZ claimed that the Womanizer hitmaker - who suffers from bipolar disorder - was triggered after she caught fellow diners snapping photos and videos of her on their cellphones.

Donald 'Reg' Jones (1995â€Â"1997)

Britney got her first official boyfriend, Reg Jones, when she was only 14 and he was 17.

In Lynne Spears' 2008 memoir Through The Storm, Britney's mother claimed that it was actually Jones whom her daughter lost her virginity to, not her future boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

In 2001, Jones put up two letter than the singer had written him while she was a teen, include one in which she broke up with him.

Justin Timberlake (1998â€Â"2002)

Although it was never been confirmed by any of the trio, at the time it was rumoured that Wade was the real reason for the Justin and Britney split. 

Yet their relationship was short lived and Britney and Wade had split within the year.

Fred Durst (2003)

After the breakup with Robson, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst claimed that he dated Britney, though she denied that they ever had a relationship.

The couple spent time together when working on songs for Britney's new album.  

'It just became a fiasco of madness,' Durst told MTV of the alleged breakup. '[But] I always stay true to my heart and true to everything I did and my intentions, and I am in no way a liar.'

The dating rumours started after fans theorised that Spears had gone after Leto because he was Cameron Diaz's ex and Diaz, at the time, was dating Spears' ex Timberlake.

Colin Farrell (2003)

There was clearly something going on between Britney and actor Colin Farrell in 2003, when they were seen kissing at the premiere of his film The Recruit, where they also walked the red carpet.

However, he shrugged the affectionate display off and said he was 'just a 26-year-old guy who's single and having a good time.'

While their fling may only have lasted a week, Farrell memorialized their relationship by sendin g Spears a shirt that read: 'I slept with Colin Farrell and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.'

Columbus Short (2003)

Britney dated within her own organization when she hooked up with her backup dance Columbus Short in 2003.

Short, who subsequently starred on Scandal, later claimed that he overheard Spears' parents Lynne and Jamie Spears refer to him by the N-word when she was on speaker phone with them, though he didn't specify who said it and they both denied using the word.

Columbus claimed to have only had sex with her once, and he claimed he was fired after he failed to reciprocate her affections.

Jason Alexander (2004)

Britney's first (brief) marriage was to Jason Alexander, who had been her friend since childhood. He ended up crashing her wedding to Sam on the morning of the nuptials. 

The couple tied the knot on a whim in the early morning hours on January 3, 2004 during a ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were both 22 years old at the time.

Their marriage was annulled 55 hours later, which Alexander later claimed was forced by Britney’s mother, Lynne, and Britney’s management. Following the annulment, Spears said in an interview: 'It was me being silly, being rebellious.' 

Quick turnaround: Britney's first (brief) marriage was to Jason Alexander, who had been her friend since childhood. They eloped in Las Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chapel, but they famously got the union annulled after just 55 hours

Yet 18 years after their union it seems Alexander hasn't lost his feelings for Spears, as just hours before she was was due to marry her long-term partner Sam Asghari, 28, at her home Alexander broke onto the premises to crash the wedding. 

Britney's first husband Jason Alexander has been booked in to jail after dramatically livestreaming himself crashing her wedding at her Thousand Oaks mansion.   

Jason is now in the custody of the Ventura Sheriff's Department having be en charged with trespassing, vandalism and two batteries after a couple of altercations with Britney's security guards.

Minutes before he was apprehended, Alexander managed to broadcast himself on Instagram as he ran through hillside trails, as he approached the rear of Spears' home.

Chaos: While the celebrity guests seemed in good spirits, the wedding got off to fraught start when Britney's ex-husband Jason Alexander was arrested for trespassing

The 40-year-old was easily able to scale a fence, descend a rocky hillside and slip inside the wedding venue, all-the-while telling security exactly who he was, and why he was there - just hours before the fairytale ceremony got underway.

Alexander's arrest is the third arrest in 13 months. Police sources revealed he also has a felony warrant for larceny in another county.

He was last in police custody for driving under the influence in January 2021 and breaking security protocols at an airport in August. Alexander was also arrested previously for violating an order of protection and stalking an unidentified woman in December 2021.

On Thursday night, Spears' attorney revealed he was 'absolutely livid' after Alexander crashed the pop star's wedding venue and demanded he be locked up.

Kevin Federline (2004â€Â"2007)

The songstress' next relationship also resulted in a marriage. 

Britney and Kevin Federline, a backup dancer, would go on to share her two sons: Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.

The couple divorced in 2007, and it was her struggles with custody that factored into the creation of her conservatorship.

In January 2008, she locked herself in a ba throom with the children when it was time to return them to their father. The police were subsequently called, and Spears was put on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Reflecting on their union, Rotem later said: 'It was kind of a stupid phase I was going thro ugh, where I wouldn’t say that I was being a bad person but I would say that I was being not very genuine to who I am and what it is that I’m supposed to do.'

According to TMZ, Britney dumped Lucado after she discovered a video showing Lucado 'making out with a woman and dancing with her.'

Spears announced their engagement on September 12, 2021, and she followed the good news up by having her conservatorship terminated in November of that year.

In April 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, but Britney revealed just a month later that she had suffered a miscarriage.

'Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news,' she wrote on Instagram.

‘Drag Race’ Creator Fenton Bailey: ‘Of Course’ We’ve Courted Britney Spears to Be a Guest Judge

"RuPaul's Drag Race" has had many memorable guest judges for its season premiere: Lady Gaga in Season 9, Christina Aguilera in Season 10, Nicki Minaj in Season 12 and Ariana Grande in the currently airing Season 15, to name a few.

But Britney Spears — whose discography has been a lip sync mainstay on the reality competition series (four times in Season 13 alone!) — has yet to make an appearance on the show, despite numerous efforts.

"Of course," replied "Drag Race" creator and executive producer Fenton Bailey when asked if Spears has been invited to judge. "Many stars are approached for 'Drag Race.' And it hasn't been possible – whether her schedule or people or her own desires, you know?"

Bailey has a special relationship with Spears. Prior to "Drag Race" and its many iterations, Bailey and business partner (and World of Wonder co-founder) Randy Barbato directed the 2013 documentary "I Am Britney Jean," which chronicled Spears as she finished and promoted her "Piece of Me" tour in Las Vegas.

Bailey's experience bringing "I Am Britney Jean" and "Drag Race" to screen are just two chapters in his new autobiography "ScreenAge," which he calls "a personal odyssey and cultural journey." Indeed, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone with such intimate knowledge of these pop culture phenomenons. (Other chapters in Bailey's 500+ page book, for instance, dive into his experiences with Tammy Faye and Monica Lewinsky.)

TheWrap caught up with Bailey ahead of "ScreenAge" hitting shelves in the U.S. to talk about Britney, "Drag Race" and their similarities.

TheWrap: In your book, you talk about this concept of "play" and putting on a persona. With Britney, she put on this sexy singer persona, when really, she's just a sweet girl.

Fenton Bailey: Britney was once asked, "What's one thing people don't know about you?" And she was like, "I'm just a boring person." And of course, she meant it in a self-deprecating way. But I think she also meant she is an ordinary person. I love the word Normcore, because I actually think that really describes Britney. And that sexed-up sex kitten is not Britney.

Yet there's something about that sex kitten persona, that hyper-sexual, hyper-femine persona that appeals to audiences — and something a good number of drag queens imitate.

I would say the thing about hypersexual is that it's actually not really sexual. It's like a cartoon or an exaggeration. It's not really sexual.

Sometimes it can be too literal. Whether we think that Britney is a sex-crazed person or a drag queen is a hyper-sexualized person, children are at risk, and neither of these things are true. There is no connection between these things. It's only a sort of Puritan outlook that would demand that there is a connection.

The whole idea of drag, and I think pop music, which includes Britney Spears, has always been about creating an image, creating a persona and putting that out there. David Bowie was one of the first shapeshifters and all glam rock, which is something I grew up with. It was all about the show. Or Liberace! It's the putting on of a spectacle. It is pretend.

And I think that's where the culture wars come from; to some degree a Puritan mindset cannot handle that idea. They don't like the idea of someone dressing up and pretending to be someone else and failing to understand that it's not real.

Have you approached Britney to be a guest judge?

Of course. Many stars are approached for "Drag Race." And it hasn't been possible – whether her schedule or people her or her own desires, you know?

She's been through a lot in recent years, with her conservatorship playing out in public. And despite support from fans, that can be … a lot.

I think Cara [Cunningham] put it best, you know, previously known as Chris Crocker.

"Leave Britney alone." I felt that of all the commentary and of all the coverage, that's perhaps the most spot-on. Because, you know, if you free someone from something that protects them, are you really freeing them? Or are you actually putting them in harm's way? I think that's the point we're at now.

Bailey's "ScreenAge" is now available for sale. "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 15 is currently airing Fridays on MTV.

Britney's sandy session proved that the songstress has not eased up on taking care of her body as she showed toned legs and a flat tummy in her swimwear.

Going with various hairstyles for the video, including messy buns and free-flowing locks, Britney looked terrific in her two-piece, with the neon-green top and leopard-print bottoms playing perfectly off each other despite the mismatched patterns.

While the outing may have appeared to be a normal one for the star and her friend, it wasn't long ago that Britney and Cade were experiencing tension as the singer brought her conservatorship battle to court.

As shared by Hola! magazine, the history between Britney and her manager suffered a rough patch as the singer's conservatorship fight became the focal point of most headlines worldwide in 2021.

After standing by her side throughout the struggle to free herself from the control of her father, Cade ended up receiving the wrath of Britney's fans, with many beginning to wonder if Cade was actually siding with the singer's father instead of his longtime celebrity pal.

Followers even went so far as to accuse Cade of brainwashing Britney into staying in her conservatorship longer than necessary.

Cade opened up online about his frustrations surrounding Britney's conservatorship and the rumors tainting his reputation and stance on the legal battle.

"I've kept my mouth shut for 12 + years on Britney," he penned online, as reported by Hola!

"Enough is enough. After getting thousands of death threats, getting water bottles thrown at my head in bars from bystanders telling me I'm brainwashing her – Britney I'm now speaking up."

"The system and the public failed her. Her new attorney is the best of the best and knows that the work has just begun but it's progress & hope and that's all we can ask for now until action can be taken," he added.

As recent posts shared by Britney have likely put to rest any doubts her fans may still have regarding Cade's loyalty to the star, the pop star's relationship with her husband Sam Asghari was put under heavy scrutiny recently after a public meltdown was captured by paparazzi.

Back in January, Britney and Sam were placed back in the media spotlight after TMZ shared a video that appeared to show the singer experiencing a very public breakdown.

Restaurant patrons allegedly were left feeling concerned for the singer after several people whipped out their phones to snap pics and recorded Britney melting down, with TMZ sharing that the star may have felt stressed by the attention.

The video clip seemed to capture the singer visibly upset, holding the menu up to conceal her face, as Sam later abruptly walked out and left her to handle the bill and be escorted out by her bodyguard, who ended up paying for the couples' dinner.

The incident left followers feeling concerned again that Sam was possibly controlling his wife even after her conservatorship legally ended, with many rushing to the singer's Instagram page to make claims that the personal trainer was ruling over the pop star.

As reported by Monsters and Critics, Sam later shut down the online haters, insisting that he was in no way controlling his wife while adding that he doesn't even "control what she has for dinner."

Although the rumors undoubtedly left Sam reeling, he managed to maintain his composure online, relaying that he knows Britney's fans were just trying to look out for their favorite celebrity and he "understood" where the accusations were coming from.

Aside from managing her life in the spotlight and marriage to Sam, Britney has expanded upon her career by dabbling in the world of perfumes.

A 3.3 oz bottle of her Midnight Fantasy sells for just $24.69, while the diamond-shaped bottle of her Curious blend runs even lower than that at $20.54.

While Britney doesn't promote her line on her personal Instagram page, a separate page was created to spread the word about the scents.

The agent at Creative Artists Agency wore a bright green T-shirt, tan pants, a Brooklyn baseball hat and a striped sweater that he tied around his chest, while the 41-year-old had on white shorts, a blue and white floral top and some aviator shades.

In addition to the snaps, the 2000's icon posted a video of herself and Hudson embracing, cheesing and flipping off the camera. The star showed off her outfit in the clip as she and her pal busted a move around the aircraft.

Despite the happy reunion, the pair's relationship has had some ups and downs over the years. Hudson revealed that he was harshly criticized by the pop sensation's friends after he did not immediately speak out about Spear's conservatorship during the #FreeBritney movement.

The manager did eventually weigh in against the legal dilemma in July 2021 before the conservatorship was ultimately terminated that November.

Most recently, the two pals made headlines after a photo was circulated of the L.A. talent agent, the Grammy winner and socialite Paris Hilton.

The snap was rumored to be taken at Hudson's birthday bash in January, though, the mom-of-two denied attending the event. The blonde beauty alleged the picture of the trio was taken years earlier at another event.

She then added, "Oh yeah, there's one more, oh yeah, the one about my boobs being fake. That is just ridiculous! I mean, come on! I'm 18 and I'm still growing, you know?" As she speaks, though, her "breasts" move around in an unnatural way, due to some sort of device hidden under her shirt.

Spears more seriously addressed lip syncing allegations in a 2017 interview, saying, "A lot of people think that I don't sing live. Because I'm dancing so much I do have a little bit of playback, but there's a mixture of my voice and the playback. It really pisses me off because I am busting my ass out there and singing at the same time and nobody ever really gives me credit for it."

Many fans were honestly just happy that Britney's comments were back up, although it was anyone's guess as to how long they would stay that way.

Although Paris Hilton seemed to claim she was and sharing a photo of the three together, Britney took to Instagram to deny going to any birthday party.

However, Britney also took to Instagram to share a video that featured her posing in a red crop top and red mini skirt. The red top featured the Coca-Cola logo stamped across the front in white ink.

"Sorry about my post yesterday with no music 🎵 !!! That was horrible 🙄🙄🙄 … oh well !!!" Britney began, referring to one of her deleted dancing videos. "Here's me going through my closet realizing outfits I have never worn !!! I am a practical shopper but I was really surprised going through my closest and what I found !!!"

She then discussed the photo with Paris Hilton, writing, "Also have no idea about these pics of me from a birthday party … I haven't been to a bday party in forever !!!"

"And as for the pics, those have to be from years ago !!!" she added. "Kind of creepy and weird that no one is talking about that … makes no sense whatsoever !!!"

Fans aren't quite sure what to think about this one! In other news, Britney claimed that her clothes were "gone" in her Instagram Stories.

"Since I'm doing a serious throwback this week, I went back in and checked out some of my posts and realized half my clothes are gone !!!!" Britney wrote. "These are my favorite pieces of clothing that are gone !!! I post this to remind myself…"

The situation also isn't helped by the fact her kids, Sean, 17, and Jayden, 16 – who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 44 – don't appear keen on the relationship, either. The boys are currently estranged from Britney and chose not to attend her wedding to Sam.

And despite him being Britney's rock all these years – standing by her side as she battled her family to end the conservatorship, which she was finally freed from in 2021 – Sam, 29, is said to be increasingly struggling with his wife's behaviour. We're told, "Sam's so burnt out by it all, he just bolts and lets her get on with it most of the time, which makes her even more upset as she's left to fester."

Britney often posts ambivalent captions that could suggest she is not satisfied in her marriage or is looking for a new chapter. One unprompted picture of a rose says, "I've got a new approach… slow down and take my time and listen to what my higher inner goddess is trying to tell me."

However, friends are rooting for the pair to patch things up.

"Sam still loves Britney very much and understands where her bad moods are coming from. They do have good days and moments, especially when she can bring herself to leave the house.

"The consensus in Britney's circle is that she's very lucky to have Sam in her life right now, almost everyone agrees with this. Everyone is hoping she can come to terms with what she's been through and they can move forward."

The 41-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Thursday, February 9, to address the speculation after multiple outlets reported that friends and family were growing concerned over Spears' mental health. Spears penned a lengthy caption alongside a pink graphic that read, "A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency."

The Crossroads actress wrote: "It makes me sick to my stomach that it's even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!
