Singer Britney Spears is taking a moment to share a small tribute to her son Jayden before he moves to Hawaii with Kevin Federline.
The former couple was married from 2004 to 2007 and shares two children together: Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16.
Britney Spears Wrote 'Mine' Over A Photo Of Her Son Jayden Ahead Of His Move To Hawaii With Kevin Federline Instagram | Britney SpearsOn Thursday afternoon, the 41-year-old pop star took to Instagram to share a single photo of her youngest son. He is lying on his stomach on the floor while playing video games.
Britney did not write anything in the caption. She only shared the Chinese character for "mine." Comments on her Instagram post were also disabled, as they are on most of her recent posts.
Over the past month, she also shared old photos taken by paparazzi of her son Sean, as well as another photo of Jayden as the two boys prepare to move from California to Hawaii this summer.
Kevin Federline Is Moving The Two Boys To Hawaii MEGAIn late May, Kevin Federline revealed that he was moving to Hawaii with his current wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, after she was reportedly offered a job in a sports department at a university there.
The decision to move made headlines after K-Fed threatened to take the matter before a judge if Britney did not consent before a June 1 deadline. Considering that Kevin has physical custody of the two boys, it is likely that a judge would have approved the move.
Fortunately, it looks like Britney was looking to avoid legal drama for the sake of her boys and formally consented to the move before the deadline. However, it did not stop Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, from putting K-Fed and his legal team on blast for making the matter public.
Britney Spears' Lawyer Slams Kevin Federline For Making His Private Move Public Instagram | Britney SpearsIn a letter sent to Kevin's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, and obtained by Page Six, Britney's lawyer noted that Sean will "no longer be a minor" when he turns 18 in September. He also noted that Jayden, at 16, was "nearing the age of maturity," and able to decide where he wanted to move to as he begins preparing for college.
"To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation," Rosengart reportedly wrote in the letter, going on to say that he "did not anticipate a dispute" when they were first contacted about the move in April.
Rosengart claimed that he had urged both Kevin and Kaplan to keep the possibility that the family was moving to Hawaii "private for the sake and dignity of all parties involved, including the children," who are still legally minors.
Rosengart Calls Britney Spears A 'Loving and Supportive Mother' Instagram | Britney Spears"It was more than disappointing that you nevertheless chose to publicize this matter, creating unnecessary drama and a false 'dispute' by publicly discussing the issue and your letter," Rosengart continued, adding, "When I called you yesterday to express my dismay that you had done so, you denied doing so. Apparently, you did not realize that [TMZ's] May 30 story itself literally quotes you as the story's source."
In the letter, Rosengart went on to call Britney "an icon, loved and respected bymillions throughout the world." He called the pop star a "loving and supportive mother" who is still "faithfully supporting" her children despite reports that Britney has not physically seen her children in over a year.
Kevin Federline Slams 'Stupid' Rumors That He Is Only Moving To Hawaii For More Child Support Instagram | Britney SpearsFans of the singer have alleged that Kevin has ulterior motives for moving to Hawaii. Right now, he receives thousands per month in child support, but that will end once both children turn 18.
However, things work a little bit differently in the state of Hawaii. Child support can last up to age 23, as long as the child is enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or vocational program.
Earlier this week, paparazzi asked K-Fed about these claims outside of a McDonald's in a video obtained by Page Six. Kevin simply responded to the rumors, saying, "A lot of people say a lot of stupid things."
