Slated to hit shelves this fall on October 24, Britney Spears's upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, is already making headlines. Weeks ago, People announced the book's release date on July 12, to much excitement.

"Britney's compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery," Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books' Senior Vice President and Publisher, told People. "I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn't be more proud to help her share her story at last."

And though The Sun reported that fans could have gotten their hands on the autobiography much sooner, alleging that Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell's respective legal teams got involved and demanded to read the book before it was published, The Daily Mail refutes the claims, citing insiders that said that nothing of the sort happened.  According to Daily Mail sources, the insider noted that there were "no legal threats from Justin or Colin."

Spears famously dated Timberlake from 1999 to 2002, long after the two appeared on The Mickey Mouse Club together in 1992. They were both riding high at the time, dominating the TRL countdown and the Billboard charts while offering up some of the most memorable memes of all time, including their now-infamous all-denim look at the 2001 American Music Awards. Spears was linked to Farrell in 2003, but they never officially announced that they were an item.

And while rumors abound, one thing's for sure: There is a whole lot of anticipation for Spears's new book.

With a fall date set (Oct. 24), it seems that everyone managed to keep things in line. Gallery Books, Spears's publisher, describes The Woman In Me as "a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope."
