She's especially passionate about teaching dance and wants to open a dance studio. "That is truly a dream of hers," explains the source, "and she talks about it often." The second source says Spears isn't rushing to do anything professionally. "Britney lives a very low-key life. Pop star Britney Spears is reported to be on the verge of bankruptcy as her spending is spinning out of control.

An insider from the industry spilled to In Touch Weekly that the pop icon "blew a fortune on her recent birthday bash in Mexico".

The source revealed that Britney's money managers "have been begging her to slow down her spending".

However, the songstress hasn't paid any heed to their "warnings," and on top of that she "accuses" her managers of "trying to control her like her father".

The source noted that the singer's finances were in check during her 13-year conservatorship.

But after its termination, the Toxic hit-maker "refused" to listen to anyone.

The source believed that there was no financial issue when Britney "was doing huge concert tours and topping the charts".

But since she's not associated with the music industry, there's likely any potential for "new earnings".

The source mentioned that Britney's only earnings were from her memoir, The Woman in Me, which reportedly earned $12.5 million last year.

"However, that was long gone," said an insider.

So far, the only project of Britney in the pipeline is her forthcoming biopic.

"There's just no way to predict how much that will bring in for her though," stated an insider.

The source further said that even though Britney "is running out of money," she's "still spending like there's a bottomless pit of cash".

Another insider agreed with this sentiment and claimed to feel "sad" for Spears. "Everyone is rooting for her," the second source added.

Spears' career and personal life have faced a series of ups and downs over the years. She was placed under conservatorship in 2008 after she began behaving erratically in 2007 following her divorce from Kevin Federline and losing custody of their two children.

The conservatorship ended on November 12, 2021, after 13 years. The 'Oops!....I Did It Again' singer's first album after her conservatorship ended was a duet with Elton John called 'Hold Me Closer', which was released on August 26, 2022. The song was an immediate hit but currently she does not seem focused in her music career.

Britney Spears claims to have shifted to Mexico

Britney Spears turned 43 on December 2 and on the occasion she uploaded two videos on her Instagram. In one video she claimed she has shifted to Mexico from the US and in the other she claimed she had actually turned five.

"It's my birthday, I'm not turning 42; I'm turning 5 this year, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow," she mentioned.

She also claimed that she will now be living in Mexico because she was hurt by the American paparazzi.

The mother-of-two alleged, "It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I'm wearing like a white Jason mask. It doesn't even look like me." 

"They've always been incredibly cruel to me, the paparazzi and pictures and the way they've illustrated me to be in some of it," she said.

"I know I'm not perfect at all, by any means, but some of it is extremely mean and cruel, and that's why I've moved to Mexico."

In a Thursday, December 5, video, the 'Toxic' singer revealed that she was still in Mexico and was doing "house hunting."

"This place is insanely beautiful !!! Thank you Jesus for a place so far away from America !!!" she noted.

But a friend of Britney Spears said, as per Page Six, "Britney didn't actually move to Mexico … she was just having fun and being silly."

Also, Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Kevin Federline, Spears' second husband, added, "I think we've all learned that, when it comes to Britney's decisions, it's very fluid for her."

Jamie, 72, has denied allegations that he's harmed his daughter, insisting that his role as her conservator was for her own good, telling The Mail on Sunday, "I don't know if she'd be alive," without the conservatorship, in December 2022. 

Despite everything Jamie put her through, the source says that, "in a perfect world, Britney would love nothing more than to make peace with her parents." But the pain is still sharp, and "it's not that simple, because she's still carrying a lot of anger towards them both, but especially her dad."

Located in the Hollywood Hills, the house is where the late Brittany Murphysuddenly died at the age of 32 on December 20, 2009. Murphy's husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, was found dead on the property just five months later, with pneumonia and anemia named as his cause of death.

The house has now been put on the market for the first time since 2020, according to a Zillow listing. The property was listed with former Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star David Parnes, who is represented by Carolwood Estates, with the asking price of $17,995,000.

The space is currently listed as off-market on Zillow. The Independent has contacted Parnes for comment.

According to the description, the 9,400 square-foot property was completely renovated and refurbished in 2024. The home is described as "a former celebrity haven that combines warm, modern finishes with a layout ideal for both entertaining and everyday life."

The three-floor house has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, along with a "grand dining area surrounded by 12-foot tall windows" and a "40-foot infinity pool" in the backyard. The house was last sold in December 2020 for $12 million.

The Clueless actor moved into the Hollywood Hills home in 2003, after purchasing the furnished space from pop star Britney Spears. In 2009, she collapsed in the home before she was transported to Sinai Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Murphy's death was officially ruled an accident caused by pneumonia, anemia, and multiple drug intoxication. There were several theories about the safety of Murphy and her husband's home following their deaths, including claims of a mold infestation. Although those theories were debunked by deputy Los Angeles County coroner Ed Winter in 2010, Monjack's mother Linda later claimed that her son had "severe mold" in the house.

"All I know is that before Simon's death, he was having hallucinations that things were crawling out of his skin," she told the Daily Mail in 2013. "He was distraught and he was getting fatter and more bloated. He wasn't someone who took drugs; he was always too fearful."

Spears also shared her theories about the infamous Hollywood home, according to her friend and former makeup artist Julianne Kaye. During an episode of Jen Zabroski's We Need to Talk About Britney podcast in 2021, Kaye recounted that Spears had called her about something "really weird" happening in the house.

"I had my friend do reiki healing on her," she explained. "He had come up; I guess she'd had a crazy partying weekend and needed to relax. He left, and she swears to God that he opened some spirit portal or something, and these bad spirits had come in… and they were trying to, like, push her down the stairs or something crazy."

Kaye said that the experience "was so bad" that Spears allegedly checked into a hotel and never returned to the house.

"She goes, 'I know you're gonna think I'm crazy. I'm not crazy. I know what I saw. I know what I felt,'" Kaye added.

One month after Murphy's death, her husband told The Hollywood Reporter that she "absolutely hated the Rising Glen house."

"Every time we would drive up Sunset, Brit would say, 'Please, can we stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel?'" he told the outlet in January 2010. "I'd say, 'Honey, you've got to be realistic. We have our house, a 10,000-square-foot home. We're going to stay in it.'"

That particular piece of property is also linked to another starlet, as Murphy bought the home from Britney Spears, who wanted to get it off her own hands. Now, the house has been put on the market again, and it's being offered for millions of dollars.

The listing was posted after the most recent owners, who bought the home in 2020, decided to sell. According to People, the current asking price is $17,995,000. This posting technically represents the second time this year that the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home has been listed and, now, nearly a million has been taken off the asking price. As noted by the outlet, the death of Murphy and that of her husband, Simon Monjack, five months later (also at the house) are still topics that swirl around the location.

In the early 2000s, the Crossroads star lived in the house and reportedly hasn't had positive sentiments to share about it. Britney Spears, who'd yet to break up with Justin Timberlake while living in the house, claimed she had a supernatural encounter of sorts in that abode. One may be tempted to wonder if any of the big stories Spears left out of her memoir involve her experiences with her past pad.

The "Toxic" singer is no stranger to being linked to supposed oddities and conspiracy theories post-early 2000s. One of the most recent is Kristin Cavallari's belief that Spears is a clone. The Laguna Beach alum shared that the singer did respond to the clone conspiracy assertions before allegedly ghosting her.

As for Brittany Murphy, she moved into the house after buying it from the Grammy winner for $3.85 million. To our knowledge, the late actress never spoke ill of the house publicly but, after her death, Monjack revealed she actively tried to avoid staying there. Following the Girl, Interrupted star's passing, her official cause of death was noted as being, "untreated pneumonia, combined with anemia and drug intoxication from prescription and over-the-counter medications, including painkillers and cold medicine."

The house aside, much has been said about the Sin City star's death. Her life and work were heavily highlighted a few years ago via the docuseries What Happened, Brittany Murphy? (which can be streamed with a Max subscription) Through the film, its director highlights her graciousness and positivity. Murphy's legacy also continues to live on through her work, with movies like Clueless and Uptown Girls now being watched by new generations.

It remains to be seen just how long the house that Brittany Murphy and Britney Spears used to own will be on the market. What is known is that it's been completely overhauled from the past design and layout. Hopefully, whoever calls it home next can start anew with its updated remodel and do with it as they please.
