Pop icon Britney Spears has claimed that she had adopted a daughter, sparking discussions on social media. The singer has two kids from former marriage to Kevin Federline: Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Britney Spears recently shared a video on Instagram in which she could be seen jamming to some music and dancing. The 43-year-old wore a pink one-piece top and a pair of black boots. She completed her look with a black hat.
In the caption, Spears explained why she was dancing, saying she hadn't "worked out in years." She later claimed that she had "adopted a beautiful baby girl" named Lennon London Spears.
"This is 30 seconds of my random silly workout !! I hate working out but 3 hours of my footage was all stolen !!! It kinda hurt my stomach to see it disappear because well I sweat my a– off and had a white jacket on !!!" she added.
The pop star continued, "Lennon today has on adorable dress ???? !!! It says I'm NEW HERE !!! SO PLEASE STOP TALKING TRASH AMERICA !!! I've decided to move to Italy ????? !!!"
However, TMZ has revealed via their sources that Spears did not adopt a daughter and may have just been trolling fans, evidenced by the multiple emojis in the post's caption.
This isn't the first time a Britney Spears claim on social media turned out to be false. Last year, the "Baby One More Time" singer claimed on Instagram that she had moved to Mexico. She cited the paparazzi's cruel treatment of her as the reason for the move. However, The Hollywood Reporter debunked her claims via a source and confirmed that she had not moved out of the United States.
