Britney Spears has told her side of the story and now it's time for her ex-husband Kevin Federline to tell his.
The 43-year-old pop icon published her memoir, The Woman in Me, back in 2023, which shed light on her struggles following her divorce with Federline as she fought for the custody of her sons and ultimately lost the battle with him winning sole custody.
However, Federline has been working on his own book, You Thought You Knew, discretely which is believed to be a tell-all from his perspective on the relationship.
"Kevin spent about three or four years working on the book," This wasn't an overnight thing that he threw together after Britney came out with her book. He's never really told his side of the story in depth, and he knows interviews and documentaries can be twisted, so he wanted people to hear it straight from the horse's mouth," an insider told Us Weekly.
The memoir is scheduled to be released on October 21, and is advertised as the space where the former dancer "peels back the layers of celebrity, fatherhood and survival to reveal the man behind the mythology."
The source went on to share that "a decent chunk" of the upcoming release is about his tumultuous relationship with Spears, detailing their "love at first sight" to "picking up the pieces after the tumult of their div orce."
Federline also "reflects on the conservatorship years, and how he thought it was a good thing for Britney and their family even if it was flawed in some ways."
A second source clarified that the book "doesn't attack Britney or get too personal about her life," but rather stays focused on his "decisions, feelings, overcoming challenges and trying his best to protect those around him while still navigating his life as best as he could."
