Britney Spears 'To Regain Control Of Finances'

12:56, Sunday, 22 January 2012

After Britney Spears had her famous meltdown back in January 2008, everybody agreed it was probably best if she didn't have control of her own personal finances.

But now, just over four years later, her father Jamie is apparently asking a judge to end the arrangement which has seen a board of conservators having control of his daughter's money.

The Sunday Express claims that Jamie intends that Britters will should have control of her own finances by the time she marries fiancé Jason Trawick next month.

A source told the paper: "Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries."

Britney, 30, and her former manager Jason, 40, are expected to tie the knot on the island of Maui on Valentine's Day.

It is thought that the conservatorship will remain in place on Britney's business dealings - but that she will have control of her own income again.

US gossip site RadarOnline recently said that she was on better terms than ever with her dad.

A source was quoted as saying: "Britney now recognizes that if her father hadn't stepped in and taken the action that he had, well... Britney is now crediting Jamie for saving her life.

"Britney's relationship with her dad is in a very, very good place now. She was extremely emotional backstage before leaving for the VMAs and kept telling her daddy how much she loves him."
