Britney Spearsâ father has asked a court to add his daughterâs fiancé as a co-conservator over her, according to PEOPLE.
Jason Trawick, Spearsâ former agent and fiancé, will only have shared legal control over Spearsâ general well-being, not her finances, PEOPLE reported.
âThis is a very unusual situation, because generally you donât see conservatees get married,â Jeffrey S. Cohen, an L.A. probate attorney not involved with the case, told the magazine. âThis could be a sign that the coupleâs wedding is around the corner.â
âThis is probably a compromise between Britney, her father and Trawick to get the marriage off on the right foot. Obviously, her future husband needs to have a say in her well being,â Cohen added.
Jamie Spears has held legal control of his pop star daughter and her fortune since she suffered a psychological breakdown in 2008 and was hospitalized in Los Angeles.
The conservatorship will be lifted when a judge believes Spears is healthy enough to fend for herself.
