British singers The Wanted have cleared up reports they were snubbed by Britney Spears on tour, insisting the pop star “totally charmed†the boyband.
The “Glad You Came†hitmakers recently told how Spears’ bodyguards forced them to face a wall while the singer walked past them backstage at her U.K. concerts last year.
The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran said, “I was in the hallway with my tour manager. Basically we were looking with a laptop, trying to get WiFi… facing the middle of the hallway. (Britney’s) bouncers came down with her and told us to face the wall… as Miss Spears is walking through. We’re like, ‘Come on!’ We turned around and I faced a wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away.â€
But his bandmate Jay McGuiness has taken to Twitter to assure fans the “Toxic†star was lovely.
He writes, “Just to clarify, we have nothing but love for Britney, she totally charmed us when we met her and maybe her security did make Siva face a wall, but I would have, he has a creepy look in his eye that boy.â€
However, McGuiness stands by The Wanted’s opinion of Spears’ rival Christina Aguilera, who they branded rude after she allegedly refused to speak to the group.
He adds, “My view on Xtina’s special type of manners hasn’t changed.â€
