Britney Spears NYLA Restaurant didn't make it.
What are some of the business failures of the famous?
Check below for some of Hollywood's missteps from Britney Spears NYLA Restaurant failure to Natalie Portman Te Casan Vegan Shoes miss.
Britney Spears opened her ill-fated New York restaurant Nyla in June 2002 with big dreams.
Named for two of Britney's favorite places, "NY" for New York and "LA" for Louisiana (Spears was born and raised in Kentwood, La.), the restaurant was intended to feature dishes with a Cajun flair, including fried okra.
It didn't go well.
People magazine reviews the issues:
After some bad reviews, some of the eatery's original chefs left the restaurant and the menu was changed.
In September, the city cited the restaurant for several minor health-code violations. And according to court documents published on TheSmokingGun.com, three companies say they are owed more than $25,000 for goods sold to Nyla, including dairy products, lobster and dinnerware.
It was amid those claims (and the subsequent bad publicity) that Spears decided to extinguish her Nyla connection.
Sorry Britney.
Other flame out business failures by Hollywood celebrities include Natalie Portman and Hulk Hogan's respective business ventures.
