Christina Aguilera Readies Single For August - MTV.com

Call it a collaboration too long in the making. Christina Aguilera has reportedly (and finally) worked with Swedish power producer Max Martin on her first single off her next album.

Sources tell Billboard.com that the powerhouse vocalist will drop the Martin-produced track in early August. The source adds that the fist-pumping tune includes this line in the chorus: "All I want to do is what you wanted." While Martin has worked with Aguilera's onetime rival Britney Spears several times over, he and Xtina have yet to cross paths musically.

Little else is known about the single, but in a previous interview backstage at "The Voice" earlier this year, Aguilera made it clear that she would release new music by year's end and that it would be "amazing."

"Well, I started [it] whenever I started this show, and then [the show] kind of took off into this big thing. So the show used to be a side project [and it] kind of turned into a bigger time-fulfilling, dedicated project for me," she said.

"I've been in the studio, hard at work," she added. "Different producers I'm working with have just excited me so much and have given me amazing tracks and beats and material I've been writing to and [with] writing partners. It's just filled with fun and excitement, and it's gonna come out later this year, and I'm very, very excited to share it with my fans, finally."

In addition to Martin, she is also rumored to be working with British production team Xenomania, who have worked with Cher, Kylie Minogue and, interestingly enough, the Wanted. (The Wanted took shots at Aguilera after they felt she had treated them coolly during their appearance on "The Voice.")

Having already worked with "Voice" judge Adam Levine on Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger," Aguilera is expected to work with Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green on this project.

"It's a song for her album. I won't disclose the title, because it could possibly be a working title," Green said. "We've talked about it amongst ourselves, and I'm gonna go in on it and work it out. It'll be the second song we've done."

The twosome previously worked on the track "Nasty," which didn't end up making the final cut for the soundtrack to Aguilera's film "Burlesque."
