Britney Spears walked off the set of "X Factor" while a man in drag performed one of her songs.
During Monday's auditions in Greensboro, N.C., Spears stormed off the set as a man, dressed partially as a woman, rocked through one of her hits, "(You Drive Me) Crazy."
Spears, 30, looked stunned throughout the performance, as fellow judge L.A. Reid patted her on the back. Judges Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell also couldn't contain their reactions, as they covered their faces with their hands.
But the audience seemed to like it. Maybe Britney Spears-themed drag queens are suddenly big in North Carolina.
While Reid and Lovato followed Spears off the set, Cowell stayed behind. "I don't think she quite understood your tribute," he told the singer, who wore cat glasses, a bedazzled jean jacket, boots and his hair tucked in a bun.
"I had to fight real hard to get here," the tearful auditioner told the judges, adding that he was recently on welfare and nearly missed his "X Factor" call because he couldn't afford his phone bill.
"I really respect the tribute," Spears said when she returned to the judges' table. "It was really nice."
Of course it was.
NEW BOOK ALLEGES MICK JAGGER HAD AFFAIR WITH ANGELINA JOLIE: A new book about Mick Jagger claims the Rolling Stones' frontman had a fling with Angelina Jolie after she starred in the band's 1997 video for "Anybody See My Baby."
class="bodytextragright">In "Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger," Christopher Anderson wrote that the then-22-year-old Jolie didn't even want to do the video, but was talked into it by her late mother, actress-producer Marcheline Bertrand. At the time, Jagger was with Jerry Hall and Jolie was married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller of "Trainspotting" fame and was allegedly carrying on an affair with actor Timothy Hutton.Wait wait -- hold up. So this guy is saying Angelina Jolie would carry on with a married man? C'mon.
"Marche loved Mick for Angie," said Bertrand's friend Lauren Taines. "She felt that he could teach her about fame and how to handle it."
For Jagger, a large part of Jolie's appeal was her wild streak. "She scares me a little," he said. "I like that."
So now we know how he's gotten along with Keith all these years.
According to website dlisted, encouraged by Bertrand, Jagger allegedly wasted no time pursuing Jolie after the video was done. At first she refused to return his phone calls, and, in standard fashion, the messages began to pile up on her machine.
Jolie finally gave in to Jagger, with the dalliance lasting for two years (adding him to her man-harem, which supposedly included Russell Crowe, Timothy Hutton, Billy Bob Thornton and Nicolas Cage). In 1999, Jolie shut it down for good with Jagger.
It's a good thing those didn't mate. The baby's lips wouldn't have fit through the hospital's front door.
NATALIE WOOD DEATH CERTIFICATE CHANGED: More than 30 years after her death, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office changed the cause of death on Natalie Wood's death certificate from "Accident" to "Undetermined" last month, seven months after the Sheriff's department reopened the investigation into her tragic end, according to TMZ.
The actress died November 29, 1981 at the age of 43 during a boat party off California's Catalina Island (Wood's husband Robert Wagner and the couple's friend Christopher Walken were also in attendance). Initially, her death was ruled an accidental drowning.
Wood's family members told TMZ law enforcement officials notified them of the change on Wood's death certificate, citing bruises found on her body considered "inconsistent with death by drowning."
Though the investigation remains open, the L.A. County Sheriff's department has been unable to prove her death was the result of foul play, or, as they initially believed, just an accident. (Officials have concluded that Wood did die from drowning, although they do not know how she ended up in the water.)
Last fall, the boat's captain, Dennis Davern, said he believes Wood's husband Wagner was "responsible" for her death.
"We didn't take any steps to see if we could locate (Natalie)," he added. "I did lie on a report several years ago."
FILM VERSION OF '50 SHADES OF GREY' ON ITS WAY: Ladies, start your engines.
The producers of "The Social Network" will produce a film adaptation of the best-selling erotic trilogy "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Universal Pictures and Focus Features said in a joint statement Monday that Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti will reteam for the adaptation of the best-selling novels by E.L. James.
The multimillion-selling books tell the story of an unworldly college student engaging in an unusual romantic relationship with a wealthy young businessman. They have been called "mommy porn" for their sexual content and large female following.
RUN-DMC REUNITING: After not performing together in more than a decade, the surviving members of Run-DMC will reunite this fall at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.
That sounds ... fun.
Joseph Simmons, now known as Rev. Run, and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels retired the group after their DJ, Jam Master Jay, was killed in 2002. But it was announced Tuesday the group will be among the performers for the Nov. 2-4 event. Festival organizers say they plan to donate some of the proceeds to the JMJ Foundation for Music, which works to give youth access to the arts.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group is best known for hits like "Walk This Way," ''It's Like That" and "My Adidas." There's no word on who might fill in for Jay.
