Britney Spears: 'I'm ready to take control of my life' - Digital Spy

Britney Spears has reportedly told a judge that she is ''ready" to take charge of her personal affairs.

It was reported earlier that Spears's conservatorship will continue due to "medical issues".

However, it now appears that the X Factor USA judge has told a judge that she wants control of her personal life even if her business affairs remain under the control of the conservatorship, Radar Online reports.

A source said: "Britney said she doesn't understand why it's still in place, and expressed her belief that she has got to be the only person under a conservatorship that has managed to land a $15 million work contract [on The X Factor USA]."

The singer was initially placed under the conservatorship in 2008 following her highly-publicised breakdown, but has since gone on to enjoy personal and professional successes in recent years.

Spears told the judge that she is more than capable of controlling her own life, and used her weekly appearances on live television later this year as part of The X Factor USA to highlight the progress she has made during the last four years.

However, the decision ultimately lies with Judge Goetz who is the only person who can end the conservatorship.

Amendments were made in recent months when her fiancé Jason Trawick was made co-conservator alongside Spears's father.

Spears has released two studio albums and gone on two worldwide tours since the conservatorship began in 2008.

She will make her X Factor USA debut next month. Watch the latest trailer for the show below:
