Britney Spears intervention: Manager Cade Hudson begs singer not to 'throw in the towel’ on her music career

Britney Spears’ manager has allegedly staged an intervention during a recent holiday in Mexico to “remind her who she really is”.

Cade Hudson has served as Spears’ manager since 2021 after her long-time manager Larry Rudolph resigned from the position.

Mr Hudson previously worked as Britney's agent and also represented stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Johnny Knoxville.

“Cade wants to see Britney get back to doing what she loves to do, as she is a talented artist,” a source told Britain’s Daily Mail on Wednesday.

Since beginning her recording career in 1998, Spears has sold about 100 million records worldwide and won a Grammy award in 2004.

“He wanted to have a career intervention and, at the same time, really help her to get back to herself.

"He told her she cannot throw in the towel yet and he has reminded her of who she really is,” the sourced added.

Spears has posted frequent videos on Instagram of her holiday with Mr Hudson in Mexico since arriving in Cabo San Lucas last week.

The intervention by Mr Hudson follows speculation about the state of Spears’ marriage to actor Sam Asghari after both were photographed without their wedding rings.

Spears wed Mr Asghari last year in a star-studded ceremony at her Los Angeles home attended by Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore.

However, none of Spears’ immediate family attended the wedding.

Last month rumours emerged that Mr Asghari and Britney’s inner circle were planning to stage their own intervention to address the singer’s mental health challenges and substance abuse issues.

That earlier intervention allegedly fell through after Spears became partially aware of the plans.

Following the incident, the source claimed Mr Hudson is "one of the only people in the world that Britney trusts.”

The 42-year-old was in a controversial conservatorship from 2008 until 2021 in which her career, health and financial decisions were overseen by a team headed by her father Jamie Spears.

Spears has been on a self-imposed career hiatus since exiting the conservatorship 18 months ago except for a song with Elton John called Hold Me Closer which topped the ARIA music chart in 2022.

The Baby One More Time singer has not released a full album since 2016 and has not performed on stage since 2019.
