Britney Spears is currently in a quiet period, career-wise. The pop singer may or may not be working on new music, according to differing reports, but the songs she released in her heyday remain hugely popular. This week, one of her biggest singles is back on the Billboard chartsâ€"but it’s not the version that many fans will be familiar with.

“...Baby One More Time” debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart this week. The tune blasts onto the ranking of the bestselling cuts labeled as rock by the company thanks to an inventive and satisfying cover from a hard rock outfit.

Tenacious D recently put their own spin on “...Baby One More Time,” and fans love it. The band, which consists of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, recently dropped the cover, which quickly went viral. It shot to the highest reaches of the iTunes chart in the U.S., which was a quick signifier that it was bound to become a hit on at least one of the sales-only Billboard tallies.

In its first full week of availability, Tenacious D’s “...Baby One More Time” sold 4,267 copies. That number is according to Luminate, the firm that gathers sales and streaming data which Billboard uses to power its weekly charts.

Tenacious D recorded “...Baby One More Time” for the new movie Kung Fu Panda 4. Black, one-half of the pair, has been the star of that animated franchise since the beginning, and his presence is what helps keep the series going, in part. The band even recorded a music video on the red carpet at the premiere of the children’s flick, which helped the tune gain even more attention.

“...Baby One More Time” marks Tenacious D’s first No. 1 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. In fact, even though they are a successful rock band with a Grammy to their name, before this week, the duo had never placed on this purchase-only ranking before.

Spears made “...Baby One More Time” a global hit when it was released in 1998. The tune served as her debut single, and it turned her into a superstar almost overnight. The song shot to No. 1 on charts everywhere, including in the U.S. It was nominated for a Grammy and ranks as one of the most important, bestselling, and more influential pop songs in history.
