Britney Spears calls sister Jamie Lynn a ‘bitch’ in bizarre car video

Looks like Britney Spears won't be reconciling with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, anytime soon.

In since-deleted Instagram videos from Tuesday, the "Toxic" songstress showed herself driving up a mountain with her assistant and a few others as she ranted about her "little bitch" sister.

"My sister [went on the TV show "I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!"] and they bathed her in the jungle, little s–t," the Grammy winner, who was on her way to go horseback riding with her posse, noted.

"She said, 'Bathe me because I'm stuck in the jungle and I miss my kids — cater to me.' Little bitch."

Britney Spears called her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears a "bitch" in since-deleted social media videos. Britney Spears/Instagram The "Criminal" hitmaker made the remark while speaking about Jamie's time on the show, "I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!" "They bathed her in the jungle, little s–t," she slammed. "She said, 'Bathe me because I'm stuck in the jungle and I miss my kids — cater to me,'" she further complained.

Britney, 42, went on to allude that she was stronger than Jamie, 33, by saying that she'd be "peeing in the bushes" as others warned her to be careful and not get a "vagina rash."

Imagining the scenario, she said, "'Don't do that Britney, you're going to get hurt. You're going to get a baby booty rash. I've got to go get ointment for her booty.'"

The "Toxic" hitmaker also wrote over the video, "I wanna be a little bitch and get a bath in the jungle like my sis."

Jamie was on the show last fall. ITV She left on "medical grounds." ITV

Britney deleted the video shortly after posting it, but her fans were quick to reshare the bizarre rant on social media.

Jamie, who appeared on Season 23 of the show in November 2023, was infamously offered a bath by her castmates after crying about how much she missed her two kids: Maddie, 15, and Ivey, 5.

A fan clip posted to X showed the "Zoey 101" star lounging in a bathtub in the middle of a jungle as her pals serenaded her.

Page Six was told by an insider last December that the siblings' relationship was on the mend after Britney accused Jamie of capitalizing off her conservatorship battle with the release of her January 2022 memoir, "Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out."

Britney and Jamie Spears settlement avoids long, potentially ugly and revealing trial

By ANDREW DALTON (AP Entertainment Writer)

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears will avoid what could have been a long, ugly and revealing trial with a settlement of the lingering issues in the court conservatorship that controlled her life and financial decisions for nearly 14 years.

A hearing on those issues — including a request from Jamie Spears for a broad ruling dismissing them — had been scheduled for Monday but was pulled from the court calendar after the settlement was approved by a judge on Friday.

Britney Spears was taken out of the conservatorshi p in November 2021, after a pair of speeches she made to a judge turned what had been a growing public sentiment against it into a cause best known by the hashtag #FreeBritney.

But several elements remained and dragged on in court, including final payments to the attorneys who helped operate the conservatorship. Spears' attorney Mathew Rosengart had also sought a public reckoning over what he said was financial malfeasance by Jamie Spears and allegations of excessive surveillance of Spears.

All of that will now be dispensed with in the settlement whose terms were not disclosed in a series of filings last week, one of which said Jamie Spears had been "fully and finally discharged as Former Conservator of the Estate."

"Although the conservatorship was terminated in November, 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete," Rosengart said in a statement. "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter. It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears."

The trial had been slated to begin next month.

Jamie Spears' attorney, Alex Weingarten, said the settlement was confidential at the insistence of her lawyer.

"Jamie has nothing to hide and would be happy to disclose everything about every aspect of the conservatorship so that the public knows the actual truth," Weingarten said in a statement to The Associated Press on Monday. "Jamie loves his daughter very much and has always done everything he can to protect her."

In her memoir, " The Woman in Me," published last year, Spears said she felt that her father had "always been all about the money."

She married longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari months after the conservatorship ended, but Asghari filed for divorce just over a year later. The divorce has yet to be finalized and the two are still legally wed.

And while she has dabbled in music including a 2022 collaboration with Elton John, in January she shot down rumors of a new album and vowed to "never return to the music industry."

Britney Spears returns to Instagram and shares cryptic message after quitting social media

Britney Spears has a tumultuous relationship with social media, as she has switched off comments on her posts, as well as regularly deleting her posts after uploading them

Britney cuddled her horse in the unusual video

Britney Spears has returned to Instagram, sharing a cryptic message after she was forced to pay millions to her estranged father.

The Toxic hitmaker, 42, took a brief break from social media as it emerged a judge had ruled she should pay the legal fees of her dad Jamie Spears following the bitter battle over the end of her conservatorship. Britney, who will end up footing a £1.6million ($2million) bill in legal fees amid the long-running legal dispute, said there was "no justice".

She's since returned with a series of posts showing her relaxing and being comforted by one of her horses, and in a video uploaded on Monday, Britney can be seen dancing around while wearing a white and yellow strapless dress, and pulling the top down to show fans her cleavage.

The singer, who changed her name to Xila Maria River Red, then switches to more wholesome content, as she cuddles and strokes a horse while gazing at the camera. However, fans were left confused by her caption on the post, which read: “Me this morning before riding!!! Psss are we still playing chess???”

Some speculated the cryptic caption was about her father, after Britney launched into a fiery tirade on Instagram following the judge’s ruling, but then quickly deleted her post. While others suggested her caption was aimed at her mysterious on-again/off-again lover, who she reportedly began dating earlier this year.

Britney’s return to Instagram comes after she took aim at her family in the hours after she was told to pay her father’s legal fees, and shared her frustration over the “injustice”. She fumed: “My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!!”

The singer found comfort with one of her horses (

“The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!! I am so lucky to be here!!!” Britney continued. “It’s funny ‘cus till this very day I haven’t told them face to face!!! I text through IG but I honestly believe it will not be so safe if I ever did go face to face so !!! The child in me knows they would be destroyed and that’s basically it!!! I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything!!!”

The post was later deleted. In her emotional caption, Britney suggested she had not seen either her father or mother, Lynne Spears, since the conservatorship ended in November 2021, but she did reunite with her mum in December last year.

The singer’s conservatorship ran for 13 years, and she reflected on her heartbreaking experience in her memoir, The Woman In Me. “I became a robot. But not just a robot â€" a sort of child-robot. I had been so infantilised that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself,” she recalled.

Britney Spears and Her Father Settle Dispute Over Alleged Financial Misconduct During Conservatorship

Britney Spears has settled a dispute over legal fees with her dad, and former conservator, Jamie Spears.

The pair settled an enduring debate over Jamie's legal fees and his management of Britney's finances in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 25, the New York Times reported Friday afternoon. Britney's legal team, led by attorney Mathew S. Rosengart, was fighting to keep their client from having to pay her father's legal bills, mainly on the basis Jamie had allegedly misused his authority as Britney's conservator — a role he held up until September 2019 — to pay himself $6 million.

Terms of the settlement were not widely disclosed but in a statement issued Friday, Rosengart said Britney had finally fulfilled her goal of obtaining total freedom: "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter." He continued by stating "it has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears."

With this move, Jamie and Britney avoid having to go to trial over the alleged financial misconduct during her conservatorship.

Details on the conclusion to this case are sparse in comparison to the media frenzy that first ensued over two years ago. Everything changed for Britney after she publicly addressed a court in Los Angeles on June 23 of 2021, telling the judge that she was "traumatized" and held against her will, with all of her rights stripped away by her conservators, including her father, who at one point she said she wanted jailed. "I just want my life back," the singer said.

Since leaving the conservatorship ended, Spears has sold over 2 million copies of her best selling memoir, "The Woman in Me," and has released music with Elton John and Will.i.am. Still, Britney has been adamant that a career in music is no longer a priority of hers. When rumors began circulating that her team was ushering her to put out an album, Britney wrote on Instagram: "They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry."

Britney Spears Is 'Far From Broke' After Settling Financial Dispute With Dad Jamie

Published: 2:35 PM PDT, April 29, 2024

When it comes to rumors of looming money trouble, Britney Spears can apparently turn to three words of her famous "Stronger" lyrics: "Hush -- just stop."

Following TMZ's recent report, in which it was claimed via sources that the princess of pop is in "danger of going broke" after allegedly spending millions on vacations, a source tells ET that the 42-year-old singer is "far" from it.

"While Britney flies private and enjoys vacations, she's far from going broke," the source says. "In fact, she's about to achieve recoupment from the ongoing successful sales from her memoir and audiobook." According to the source, sales of the mom of two's memoir, The Woman in Me, and its audiobook reached 2.5 million units in the United States and United Kingdom alone since its October 2023 release. It also became a #1 New York Times best-seller. "Major producers are also vying for the rights to her memoir," the source says.

Speculation about her financial state comes after a settlement between Britney and her father, Jamie Spears, of a years-long financial dispute in her conservatorship case over the payment of his legal fees, which reportedly were in the millions. After more than a decade, Britney's conservatorship was terminated in November 2021. The terms of her recent settlement with her father remain confidential.

A source previously told ET that Britney "is thrilled and relieved it is over" and "is extremely happy this is all behind her, fully."

Added the source, "And good riddance to it."

Her lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, said in part of a statement, "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November, 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete. As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter."

Jamie's lawyer, Alex Weingarten, also issued a statement to ET, which read in part, "Jamie is thrilled that this is all over. He would have liked to have had a trial so that the truth came out and the world saw the evidence of what really happened, not irresponsible and false spin. Jamie loves his daughter very much and worked tirelessly to protect her."

Dr. Charles Sophy appeared on TMZ Live on Monday, amid reports that the 42-year-old singer is 'completely dysfunctional' and is in serious danger of going broke.

Sophy revealed that he wasn't shocked to see the news about Spears at all, and thinks she needs to go into a conservatorship once again after she deleted her Instagram and re-activated it within the span of a day.

'No, it doesn't surprise m e at all because the conservatorship was there for a reason, and even though, like you said, it might not have been with the right person, the actual process needs to be in place,' Sophy said.

'When you have a mental illness of this degree, you need that kind of structure, supervision, and most importantly, to take your medication,' Sophy said.

Spears was entered into the conservator ship on February 1, 2008, with Judge Reva Goetz placing her father, James "Jamie" Spears, and attorney Andrew M. Wallet, as conservators.

This happened when she refused to relinquish custody of her sons to ex Kevin Federline and she was committed to the psych ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

She continued to work and release albums throughout her time in the conservatorship, though she entered a psychiatric ward again in 2019 due to stress from her father Jamie's near-fatal colon rupture.

There were reports in 2019 that Spears was being held against her will in the conservatorship - that was allegedly supposed to end in 2009 - which gave way to the #FreeBritney movement and the conservatorship ending in November 2021.

Those 2019 reports also claimed that Britney hadn't been taking her medication, wi th Brophy now claiming that he believes this latest situation with Spears is also because she isn't taking her meds.

'I think that's probably what's happened here. This is a no-medication situation,' Sophy said, while explaining why he thinks that's the case.

'Well, because of the erratic behavior, the manic-y spending of money, recklessness, destroying people around her, no one can feel safe around her, no one can control her, she's out of control, on many levels,' Brophy said.

The latest report from TMZ on Monday claimed Britney is in, 'serious danger' both mentally and financially, claiming she has no supervision and has 'shocking' mood swings.

She has been reportedly spending upwards of $1 million on each of her many lavish trips to French Polynesia, with one source saying she's close to going broke.

'She cannot afford this. She had $60 million when the conservatorship ended, and she's now where the conservatorship started -- in danger of going broke,' the source said.

When asked how she could be treated now, Sophy admitted, 'Well, these kinds of situations run into a wall, eventually.'

'Either she'll hurt herself, she might hurt someone else, or she could be 5150'd because she's not able to take care of herself,' Brophy said.

'Any of those situations will push her to a place where then medication can be given to her against her will,' he added.

TMZ's Harvey Levin added that he couldn't see a judge ordering Spears to be put into another conservatorship given the public outcry that happened.

Sophy responded, 'Well, I understand that, but at the end of the day, hopefully a judge would make the decision in the best interest of that patient, and if that's what she requires, even for a temporary amount of time, that's what she would require.'

When asked if there is an argument that can be made that getting out of the conservatorship was a 'horrible thing' for Britney, Sophy said, 'Absolutely.'

'You know, hindsight is 20/20, but look at it. She's slowly unraveling and it was in place and she wasn't unraveling. She might not have been happy, but she was stable,' Brophy insisted.

When asked what the first thing he would do today to get Britney help if he was responsible for her, he said, 'Medication. Put it in her. If she doesn't want to take it, I would inject it in her. She ne eds medication. She's out of control.'

The star's Instagram account, which she regularly updated, has disappeared just hours after she hit out against her family in a shocking post, though she reactivated it by Monday evening.

'She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her. She's not protected anymore,' an insider claimed.

Britney Spears says there has been ‘no justice’ after settling conservatorship case: ‘My family hurt me’

Britney Spears says there's been "no justice" for the ways her family "hurt" her after settling her conservatorship case.

The "Toxic" songstress uploaded a candid Instagram post Sunday, alleging the ways she's been harmed without any consequences for her abusers.

"I was actually right about nerve damage in my back !!!" she wrote alongside a snap of her backside sans clothes. "I have to get acupuncture [sic] every day of my life now !!!"

Spears, 42, alleged there was a group of unnamed people who sat and "did absolutely nothing" for "months" while she was being mistreated.

"The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!!," she added, seemingly referring to her parents Jamie and Lynne Spears.

Britney's emotional post comes days after she officially settled her conservatorship case with her estranged father.

"As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter," her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, told Page Six Friday.

Ahead of the conservatorship being terminated in November 2021, Britney testified against Jamie, 71, claiming he forced her to get treatment in a rehab facility, where she was forced to strip naked in front of staff.

The pop princess also claimed she was forced to get an IUD to prevent her from having more kids.

Britney later opened up about her father's role as her conservator in her 2023 memoir "The Woman in Me," writing that he only saw her "as put on the earth for no other reason than to help their cash flow."

At the time, court filings supported her theory, showing Jamie paid himself about $6 million over the 13 years he served as his daughter's conservator.

Britney continues to remain estranged from her father despite the patriarch's ongoing health issues.

Meanwhile, her relationship with her mom and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 33, is on the mend.

'There Has Been No Justice': Britney Spears Takes Aim At Parents With Salty Posts After Settling Lawsuit With Jamie Spears

Britney Spears has been in court with her father Jamie Spears for two-and-a-half years regarding legal fees tied to her conservatorship case, but this past Thursday, that ended. The details were made confidential outside of the revelation the parties agreed on an undisclosed sum. While both legal teams officially said everyone was satisfied with the agreement, the singer has put up posts on Instagram that give the impression she's no t too happy.

The pop star, who seemingly announced her retirement from the music industry back in January, was on social media site on Sunday sharing some details about her relationship with her parents. The singer has made many allegations about her family in the past, but these felt pointed in light of the recent conclusion of her legal battle. In a since-deleted post showcasing her bare back, Spears wrote:

I was actually right about nerve damage in my back!!! I have to get acupuncture every day of my life now!!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse!!! My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!! THe way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me!!! I am so lucky to be here!!! The child in me knows they would be destroyed and that's basically it!!! I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything!!!

The photo accompanying the caption was meant to highlight the back issues Britney Spears sustained due to what she's alleged to have been inaction on behalf of her parents. This post doesn't have anything to do explicitly with the legal dispute that was just settled, but it's possible that parties are prevented or discouraged from making any additional comments about the case outside of what their legal representation said.

Britney Spears made many claims about the way her parents raised her in her autobiography, many of which paint her father, Jamie, and mother, Lynne, in a negative light. In a second post accompanied by a photo of a picturesque scene, she talked about how her parents allegedly denied her an inhaler for asthma treatment:

SO PRETTY!!! I can breathe now real inhalers !!! Just got them again HUGE difference I used to have an asthma machine when I was in elementary school but the innocent mom and dad took it away for 6 years !!! But y'all I'm so fucking grateful now !!! I LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD !!!

Spears also deleted a post after this with the cover of actress Jennette McCurdy's book I'm Glad That My Mom Died. The singer has been known to make multiple Instagram posts in a short amount of time, so it's understandable a few might be deleted just as quickly. Perhaps Spears rethought the decision to make claims about her parents publicly so soon after the conclusion of the legal battle, or she was advised by her legal counsel not to. We can only speculate.

Instagram remains the most popular place to read Britney Spears' latest thoughts and feelings with no plans for new music and her memoir already released. The singer could be making a ton of money with the amount of attention her posts get, but she is reportedly uninterested in being paid on the platform. To be fair, the singer seems to be well-off financially, and now that she has better control of her money, she's not in the business of doing what a brand may tell her to do.

If you want to enjoy some Britney Spears art right now, Crossroads is now streaming with a Netflix subscription. The sheer talent alone attached to that movie makes it worth a watch in 2024, so hop on streaming right now and check it out.

The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!!" she continued, seemingly referring to her parents.

"I am so lucky to be here !!! It's funny 'cus till this very day I haven't told them face to face! I text through IG but I honestly believe it will not be so safe if I ever did go face to face so!!" Britney continued, although her mother and brother did attend her birthday party last December, following the release of her bombshell memoir "The Woman In Me."

Britney Spears Claims She Only Talks To Her Family On Instagram

Still, it appears that the "Crossroads" actress still has some things she has not said, adding, "The child in me knows they would be destroyed and that's basically it !! I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything !!!" Britney previously lamented that her mother had taken her doll collection and thrown it out, something Lynne has denied.

Britney first made the allegation in her memoir, when she visited her family during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020. She said that she stored several belongings at her mother's house, including her beloved Madame Alexander doll collection, which she received as a child. In her memoir, she said that the doll collection, along with binders of poetry, had been "thrown away."

Lynne Spears Insists She Never Threw Out Britney's Doll Collection

A few weeks after her memoir came out, Lynne took to Instagram herself to respond to the rumors. In the caption of the post, she revealed that she knew how important the doll collection was to Britney and insisted that she never threw it out. She included several photos as "proof," including a journal that supposedly contained some of Britney's lost poetry.

"I'm not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and journals but I would never do that! That would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you. They are special to me too because of the years we spent collecting them," Lynne wrote in the caption. "Of course, I still have your things, and I am happy to send them to you if you'd like me to. Please let me know and know how much I love you!"

While recalling the time that she met Taylor Swift, Britney also mentioned that what her mother did with her dolls was "really weird" and "messed up."

"Ps mom I love you so so much, but there were 3 dolls in the cabinets when I went home 2 years ago … kinda really weird you would take them out and then put them back in … so messed up," Britney wrote in November 2023. "Nope, I don't want them. Keep it all. I honestly don't care anymore … honestly though."

Britney Spears is no stranger to sharing her feelings on Instagram.

It was announced Saturday that the singer settled her legal battle with her father, Jamie Spears, over the possible mishandling of her controversial conservatorship. According to the settlement, Britney will have to pay her father's legal fees, estimated at $2 million (about £1.5 million), and Jamie doesn't owe his daughter anything.

The Toxic singer took to Instagram on Sunday morning to seemingly address the legal battle being settled in the most Britney way. The singer posted a now-deleted photo of her in a thong on the site with a lengthy caption.

Britney ended her post by saying: "I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything!!!"

She explored her relationship with her parents in her October 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. Britney claimed that her mother Lynn threw out her childhood toys in 2019 and did nothing to help Britney while Jamie was under his conservatorship for 13 years, which she described as losing her freedom.

Britney Spears settles legal dispute with estranged father over conservatorship

Britney Spears and her estranged father have agreed to settle a legal dispute that continued between them even though it had been more than two years since a court terminated the conservatorship that put him in control of the US pop star’s life.

Terms of the settlement between the singer of the chart-topping hit Womanizer and Jamie Spears weren’t disclosed in statements that their attorneys distributed to media outlets on Friday.

Spears’ attorney, Matthew Rosengart, would only say that the agreement had given his client the “freedom” that “she desired”. “She will no longer need to be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter,” Rosengart added.

Jamie Spears’s attorney Alex Weingarter, meanwhile, told CNN that his client was “thrilled that this is all over”.

Yet the entertainment news outlet TMZ â€" which has accurately reported on Britney Spears’ conservatorship battle â€" said it spoke to sources with direct knowledge of the settlement who said it required the 42-year-old musician to pay Jamie Spears’ legal bills, which exceed $2m. That amount is in addition to a few million dollars she had already paid with respect to her own attorneys’ bills, according to the outlets’ sources, who described Spears as “furious” over the financial hit.

Spears spent nearly 14 years under a conservatorship before a judge in Los Angeles ordered its dissolution in November 2021.

In her memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears wrote about how the conservatorship governed nearly her every waking moment, from decisions about her diet and artistry to family planning. She wasn’t even allowed to drive a car or drink coffee, she has said.

“I begged the court to appoint literally anyone else â€" and I mean anyone off the street would have been better” for the job of conservator, Spears wrote in her memoir, as CBS News and other outlets have noted. “[But] my father was given the job.”

Spears’ memoir also explained how “the conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood [and] made me into a child”.

“I became more of an entity than a person onstage,” said Spears, who was born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana. “I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me.”

Despite the eventual end of the conservatorship, there remained unresolved legal battles centering on attorneys’ fees and allegations from Britney Spears that Jamie Spears had exploited his role to unjustly enrich himself. Jamie Spears denied wrongdoing, with Weingarten insisting that his client only “wants the best for Britney â€" nothing less”.

The settlement announced Friday eliminated the possibility of a trial that would rehash the conservatorship in painstaking details while pitting father against daughter in perhaps the most public setting yet.

Britney Spears' bombshell best-selling memoir set to be 'turned into Hollywood movie'

Britney Spears putting 'finishing touches' on new book

Britney Spears is reportedly preparing to bare all in a sensational memoir that could soon be adapted into a film.

The pop icon is said to be in serious talks with major players like Sony Pictures about transforming her explosive tell-all book into a blockbuster movie.

It's rumoured that a top-tier team of female scriptwriters has been assembled to bring the project to life.

Sony Pictures is believed to be leading the pack in negotiations for the rights to adapt the chart-topping memoir, titled 'The Woman in Me'.

The film adaptation could also feature some of Britney's past hits, with songwriters allegedly already notified that their music might be included in the soundtrack.

"She's in advanced talks to turn it into a cinematic release and her songwriters have been informed that some of her songs will be used once it is greenlit."

In the meantime, two previous documentaries about Britney Spears have enjoyed considerable success, even without her direct involvement.

One focused on her life journey, while the other explored the #FreeBritney movement.

In 2023, she released her explosive memoir 'The Woman in Me', which flew off the shelves with a staggering 1.1 million copies sold in its first week alone.

Britney's candid account was the second fastest-selling debut of 2023, narrowly missing out on the top spot to Prince Harry's book 'Spare'.

In her memoir, the 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' singer delved into intimate details about her relationship with fellow artist Justin Timberlake. The duo met during their early years on the Mickey Mouse Club.

However, what fans were unaware of was the tumultuous nature of their relationship. In her revealing book, Britney disclosed that she had fallen pregnant with Justin's child but he wasn't ready for fatherhood, leading her to have a secret abortion.

She also explored her struggles with mental health and her fluctuating relationship with her family, from whom she is believed to be estranged. This followed the overturning of her conservatorship in court.

Jamie Lynn Spears: Britney Spears' Sister Posts Cryptic Post Hours after the Pop Star Is Forced to Pay Father Jamie's $2M Legal Bill in Settlement

It appears Jamie Lynn Spears was enjoying a quiet "I told you so" moment. The actress posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Stories late Friday following the surprising settlement of her older sister Britney Spears' years-long legal battle with their father, Jamie Spears.

Still, the actress appears to be handling it with composure. She shared a meme of a seemingly unamused little boy with pursed lips, captioning it: "Me watching what I predicted unfold after everyone told me I was crazy." Details of the settlement have not been revealed, although TMZ claimed the pop star and her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, agreed to cover Jamie's $2 million in legal fees.

    Surprising Move

With the settlement reached, the trial concerning Britney's allegations of improper behavior by her father during her 13-year conservatorship, which was scheduled for June, will no longer proceed.

In the court testimony in June 2021, the pop singer revealed that she was coerced by her father and other conservators to go on tour against her will.

She also revealed that she was prescribed lithium, which made her feel "drunk," and was prohibited from marrying or having a baby as she desired, being forced to use an IUD for birth control.

Insiders for TMZ have suggested that Britney is allegedly furious about the settlement, although she would have had to approve it.

After the announcement of the deal, the "Gimme More" artist appeared to express her resignation in a social media post.

"It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears," Rosengart, said in a statement to CNN.

"Ms. Spears is and always will be an icon and a brilliant and brave artist of historic and epic proportion,' the statement continued.

"Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete. As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court in this matter."

    Troubled Life

Jamie's attorney, Alex Weingarten, issued a statement on behalf of his client. "Jamie is thrilled that this is all over. Jamie loves his daughter very much and worked tirelessly to protect her, Weingarten said. He wants the best for Britney, nothing less."

The Grammy winner and her father have been estranged since her 13-year conservatorship came to an end in November 2021.

In her memoir "The Woman In Me," released in October of last year, Britney made allegations that her father called her "fat."

She also accused him and his associates of exerting control over her body and finances for 13 years, which left her feeling unwell.

The "Toxic" singer claimed that her father profited from her wealth.

She also accused her mother, Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn, of benefiting from the conservatorship, although she has partially reconciled with them in the subsequent years.

Britney Spears’ Settlement With Her Father Jamie Will Reportedly Cost The Singer Millions In Attorney’s Fees

Britney Spears isn't the only member of her family singing gimme more. The "Mind Your Business" singer's heated legal battle with her father, Jamie Spears, has reportedly come to an end.

According to TMZ, yesterday (April 26) Britney and Jamie reached a settlement in their dispute over misappropriation of funds during Spears' 13-year conservatorship.

In the outlet's report, sources revealed that Jamie will not be required to pay Britney anything. Instead, Britney is now allegedly responsible for covering her father's attorney fees, which reportedly amount to over $2 million.

The same close affiliate alleges that Britney is "furious" over the results. After allegedly being "reassured" by her lawyer Mathew Rosengart, Britney believed that she could recoup her financial loss from that time in her life. Rosengart's success in helping to end the entertainer's conservatorship (with the public's support via the #FreeBritney movement) supposedly led Britney to feel confident in her chances in court.

In Britney's memoir, The Woman In Me, the singer alleged that her father controlled all aspects of her finances, including control over where she spent her allotted allowance. Back in November 2022, Britney took to Instagram with an emotional message after regaining control over her accounts.

"A year ago was my first time buying something with my own two hands," she wrote. "My legs and hands were shaking for 15 minutes after I bought something."

Britney Spears settles legal battle with estranged father, officially ending conservatorship

Pop music icon Britney Spears reached a settlement with her estranged father, James P. Spears, more than two years after the court-ordered termination of her conservatorship that gave him control over her affairs.

The terms of the settlement were not disclosed following court filings made by both parties in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, as legal battles persisted over attorney fees and Spears's allegations of her father's improper behavior during the 13-year-long conservatorship.

“Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete," Spears's attorney, Matthew Rosengart, told CNN in a statement. "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court in this matter.”

Spears was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship under her father's supervision in 2008 after a series of high-profile, public breakdowns, including being committed twice to a psychiatric hospital in California.

A public campaign to end the conservatorship gained significant attention during the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic with the slogan #FreeBritney going viral on Instagram and TikTok in July 2020.

In July 2021, Spears made her first testimony in open court to challenge the conservatorship, which she claimed was highly "abusive." Spears claimed that during the conservatorship she was forced to go on tour by her management, was forced to take lithium, and was coerced to use an IUD for birth control.

The two sides in the legal dispute have fought in court for nearly two years since the end of the conservatorship, with Jamie Spears seeking court approval for over $2 million in fees to multiple law firms he hired during his capacity as conservators on top of payment for his ongoing legal bills.

Rosengart has consistently objected to the fees, arguing the elder Spears engaged in severe financial misconduct during his tenure as his daughter's legal guardian.

Alex Weingarten, lawyer for James Spears, told the New York Times that he could not discuss the terms of the confidential settlement but that both parties had resolved the longstanding issues.

“Jamie is thrilled all this is over,” said Weingarten. “He would love nothing more than to reconcile and be a family again. He has only ever acted in Britney’s best interests.”

In her post-conservatorship memoir, The Woman in Me, which has sold over 2 million copies, Spears said that she does not plan to push forward her music career at the moment.

“It’s time for me not to be someone who other people want; it’s time to actually find myself,” wrote Spears.

Britney Spears Says ‘Love Heals Everything’ as She Settles Conservatorship Case With Dad Jamie

Britney Spears celebrated the legal end of her conservatorship with a "real" glass of wine.

"Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything and that is all there is," Spears, 42, wrote via Instagram on Friday, April 26, alongside a photo of a 2019 bottle of Norton Malbec. "And REAL wine feels extremely nice as well 🍷 !!! Psss first time with real wine 🍷 Jesus f–king Christ !!!"

Her conservatorship required weekly drug tests and forbade her from drinking alcohol, she claimed in a June 2022 Instagram that has since been deleted, per Business Insider. Spears' latest photo, however, came the same day Us Weekly confirmed that the pop star had settled her lawsuit with her estranged father, Jamie Spears, over her conservatorship.

"It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears, Ms. Spears is and always will be an icon and a brilliant and brave artist of historic and epic proportion," Britney's attorney Mathew Rosengart said in a statement to Us on Friday. "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete."

Per Rosengart, the settlement means that Britney will no longer need to "attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings" going forward. The statement read, "Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored."

Britney Spears' and her father, Jamie Spears, have been at odds throughout the singer's life. Spears first showed off her vocal skills on the singing competition Star Search at 10 years old in 1992. "I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself," she wrote. "The conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood, made me into a child. I became more of an entity than a person onstage. I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me."

Jamie, for his part, doesn't view the conservatorship in quite the same way. "Not everybody's going to agree with me. It's been one hell of a time," he told the Daily Mail in December 2022. "But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without that conservatorship? And I don't know if she'd be alive. I don't. Britney Spears admits she ‘likes making people uncomfortable’ in cryptic new post

In the video, Britney could be seen walking back and forth in front of the mirror, smiling at her phone. With a sultry demeanour, she ran her hands provocatively down her body.

"May 1, last year … again I like making people uncomfortable with silence!" she captioned the post with several laughing face emojis.

Britney disabled comments on her Instagram post, preventing fans from sharing their views on her upload.

Recently, Britney sparked concerns as she posted a set of nude snaps as she clung to herself on an empty beach while talking about her funeral.

In one snap, the mother-of-two kneeled down in the rippling waves and pressed her breasts together as she stared at the camera behind her large sunglasses, before standing to give her 42.3 million followers a wide grin.

The Baby One More Time hitmaker kept her modesty with a few well-placed flower emojis that left the tattoos along her bikini line uncovered.

However, her seemingly carefree vibe in the photos was starkly contrasted by her somber caption as she questioned: "When people say we are so happy for you I'm like well how come you all got offended when I wasn't in the coffin at my funeral???"

She clarified she was joking, cryptically adding "game of chess" while also praising the beach location saying it makes her "believe in God" whenever she visits and explained the quick getaway was a "beautiful treat to myself".

Britney Spears to pay father's legal fees as star gets nothing after conservatorship court battle

After years of battling it out in court, Britney Spears' legal battle with her father Jamie Spears has been settled not in Britney's favour, despite her being released of the conservatorship

Britney has settled her case with her father

Britney Spears' legal battle with her father Jamie Spears has ended, but not in the way she hoped.

The singer has settled her case, which originally claimed that Jamie mishandled Britney's estate while he was her conservator for thirteen years. Jamie and his team claimed that nothing he did over the years was illegal.

Britney outlined her life under the conservatorship in her memoir, The Woman In Me, where she said she gave up her "freedom" in order to see her sons, Sean Preston, now 18, and Jayden James, now 17. The Oops I Did It Again singer was under a conservatorship from 2008 to 2021.

The outlet claims that Britney was told her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart told her there was a solid case - but now she's left paying over $2 million (about £1.6 million) in Jamie's legal bills. Britney has reportedly shelled out over $4 million (about £3.2 million) to her lawyer in her own fees.

Britney and Jamie's legal battle has been brewing since 2021, after her conservatorship ended. In February, Jamie filed documents in court that his 41-year-old daughter has been using stall tactics to keep the lawsuit going.

Britney Spears Reportedly Settles Her Legal Battle With Dad

Britney Spears has finally settled her legal battle with her father, according to TMZ. The settlement marks the end of a fight to leave her "abusive" years-long conservatorship in the rearview, her lawyer told Page Six. Matthew Rosengart, who played a major role in the legal battle to "Free Britney," told the outlet: "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete." After her conservatorship ended, Rosengart immediately launched an investigation into Jamie Spears, and anyone else he felt unjustly profited off his client. The settlement will require Spears to pay her father's legal bills, but it will also prevent the superstar from having to appear in court. One insider source told Page Six that Spears "wanted to put everything behind her," and was pleased with the outcome. "Although he was ready to go to trial, Rosengart acted upon her wishes and she's thrilled it's all resolved," the source said.

"So just know my life is not as perfect as it seems …" she continued, ending the post with a reminder to her "beautiful friends" that "you're not alone."

Jamie Lynn Spears is proving that mom really does know best, even when it comes to shoe choice.

"The shoes are always where we differ when we shop for her looks, but I fought hard for my choice, and as usual, it was the right one [because] mama is always right," Spears, 33, wrote via her Instagram on Monday, April 22.

Alongside the message, Spears shared a pic of a sparkly pointed-toe Jimmy Choo heel, which was the same one that her 15-year-old daughter Maddie previously wore to prom. During the event, Maddie stunned in a one-shoulder pink-sequined floor-length gown with a thigh-high slit.

Spears also uploaded a carousel of pics from Maddie's prom, including a close-up snap of her heel. "5 to 15 happens reallll quick😭," Spears captioned her Instagram post on Monday.

Maddie previously shared a glimpse into her prom night via Instagram earlier this month. In one snap, Maddie posed alongside her date, who wore a color-coordinated tie, and her mother. "PROM 2024💟💟," Maddie captioned her upload, which Spears reposted.

Spears and her ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed Maddie in June 2008. After the twosome called it quits less than two years later, Spears moved on with Jamie Watson. The duo exchanged vows in March 2014 and later welcomed daughter Ivey, now 6, in April 2018.

In February 2017, news broke that Maddie was riding an ATV in Kentwood, Louisiana, when the vehicle flipped into the pond. After being knocked unconscious and remaining underwater for several minutes, Maddie was treated in the hospital for five days. She has since made a full recovery.

Through the years, Spears has publicly reflected on the anniversary of the accident. In February, Spears marked the day by sharing a heartfelt message and a series of pics of Maddie in the hospital.

"Today is our #MIRACLEANNIVERSARY," Spears wrote via Instagram. "Every year that passes and I watch my daughter grow up, the more I realize how very blessed we are, and never want to take that for granted. Again, thank you to all the healthcare professionals who made the life saving decisions, and thank you to each and every person who prayed for our baby girl."

Spears also honored the priest who supported Maddie after the incident, writing, "Thinking of Father Mark today, although he is in heaven now, he was always like an angel on earth for us, especially on this day 7 years ago."
