A Britney Spears movie is within touching distance.

We can reveal the megastar has entered advanced talks to transform her best-selling memoir into a blockbuster, with a female-only writing team being brought in to tackle the script. Sony Pictures currently leads the negotiations, while Britney’s major songwriters have been given a heads-up that their music could be used for the adaptation of The Woman in Me.

Our source tells us: “Britney’s book was a groundbreaking best-seller and raised the public’s consciousness with regards to how the entertainment industry and conservatorships work. She’s in advanced talks to turn it into a cinematic release and her songwriters have been informed that some of her songs will be used once it is greenlit. If necessary, the project could become a mini-series in the style of Genius: Aretha.
