Britney Spears Claims She ‘Cut All My Hair Off’ In New Instagram Video

Singer Britney Spears claims that she cut off all of her hair in a new Instagram video shared after fans came to her defense.

Several paparazzi photos have gone viral online, apparently showing the Princess of Pop walking around outside with visible cellulite on her legs. The "Circus" singer later took the paparazzi to task in an Instagram post showing what she really looked like without cellulite.

It appears that she may be looking to switch up her look, however, as she recently told her followers that she cut off "all" of her hair.

Did Britney Spears Really Cut Off All Of Her Hair?

On Sunday, June 30, Britney shared an Instagram video that featured her wearing a white top and shorts. She plays with her wavy blonde hair, fluffing it around her face.

"Cut all my hair off and I think I'm going shorter ?????? !!!" she wrote in the caption. At this time, it's unclear if she pulled out the scissors to cut her hair shorter after filming this video.

Britney Spears Explains Why She Shaved Her Head In 2007

In 2007, the "Criminal" singer made headlines when she shaved her head months before her conservatorship started. In her memoir "The Woman In Me," which was published in October 2023, the pop star opened up on why she decided to cut her hair.

"I'd been eyeballed so much growing up. I'd been looked up and down and had people telling me what they thought of my body since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back," she wrote in an excerpt published by People magazine.

She went on to explain that she was no longer given control over how she looked once she entered into a court-ordered conservatorship in February 2008. "I was made to understand that those days were now over," she wrote. "I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take."

Britney's Former Assistant Described The Pop Star As A 'Sad Person'

In 2007, Britney walked into Esther's Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California, and asked that they shave her head. After the owner, Esther Tognozzi, refused to do so, the pop star grabbed the clippers herself and started shaving her head while paparazzi snapped photos through the window.

Shortly after her memoir was published in October 2023, her former assistant Sean Phillip spoke to the Daily Mail about working with the Princess of Pop. "For me personally, I did see a sad person… I was worried for her, I felt protective of her at the time," Sean said. "It wasn't a job anymore. It was protection in a friendship kind of way."

Sean claims that, following the incident, he drove Britney to a mental health facility in order to get her help. However, Sean said that Britney refused to go in. "We were told that she was being sued by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and that we had to take her to a facility and she agreed to go to a facility and we went," he recalled. "But she had to check herself in voluntarily and when we got there, she didn't want to do it and nobody could make her do it."

Britney Speaks Out Against Recent Paparazzi Photos

The same night the paparazzi captured the photos of Britney seemingly showing cellulite on her legs, Britney fired back with her own video showing her in the same pink dress without any cellulite. "The night before the paps got THAT SHOT of me going to my car !!! Same dress and same girl !!! Look I get it I know my body is not perfect but I also know I don't have cellulite on my legs the way the paps betray me !!! I also know the way the paps shoot me in public when I go out I look like a different person !!!" she wrote in the caption. "It's honestly abusive because I do feel like one of the most bullied people in the world !!!"

She went on to say, "It's the truth !!!" before discussing her health and her weight. "It's not healthy for my heart or my health !!! I'm 122 and if I lost any more weight and was sick and believed those pics I would be in the hospital !!!" she continued. "It's a sticky conversation because in a world where vanity rules not one person would believe me !!! Not one person will believe me because they prefer the negativity !!! Oh well !!!"

Britney Spoke Out Against The Paparazzi Again On Sunday

After posting a new dancing video, Britney took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 30, to share more paparazzi photos.  "This is how the paps make my legs look when I go out… not very nice and I hardly go outside 'cause I know what they do," she wrote.

"It's embarrassing, the whole subject, but that's exactly what they have always done to me … similar to what my dad used to do… it's demoralizing !!!" she added. In her memoir, Britney frequently described the way her father, Jamie Spears, treated her during her conservatorship, even alleging that he would sometimes call her "fat" and make other negative comments about her appearance.
