Britney Spears says she's "single as f--k".
The chart-topping Toxic hitmaker told her followers on Instagram that she will "never be with another man" after her divorce from husband Sam Asghari. Taking to her social media, the 42-year-old admitted she wasn't ready to start dating again after her split.
"Single as f--k !!! I will never be with another man as long as I live," she penned in the since-deleted caption for the upload. Britney posted a quote alongside the scathing statement. It read, "Her attitude is savage, but her heart is gold." The post had attracted over 12,000 likes.
But now she appears to have backtracked on her words, removing the image from her feed. Britney and Sam started dating back in 2016 after meeting on the set of her Slumber Party music video. Sam proposed in September 2021 and they tied the knot on June 4 the following year in a glitzy ceremony in Los Angeles, joined by A-list friends.
The couple split on July 28 last year after "irreconcilable differences". After just 14 months as husband and wife, they reached a divorce settlement and kept the terms of their prenuptial agreement, according to TMZ last May. "The divorce was amicable and the prenup was not challenged," a source told PEOPLE. "Britney is continuing to flex her freedom and is moving on." Reports also suggested Britney was paying for Sam's rent after their separation, something the insider denied.
"The report that she is in financial distress is false and she is not on any lease for him," they told the magazine. The couple now wait for papers to be signed off from a judge, marking the official end of their relationship, the process is thought to wrap up soon.

We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always," he added in the final update on his Instagram Story.
An insider previously told PEOPLE that Britney remained "in great spirits despite everything going on", with the source saying: "Obviously it's never an easy thing to go through, but sheâs remaining positive and focusing on the future." Sam's filing cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce, splitting on July 28 2023.
Sam spoke highly of Britney in a post-split interview, explaining: "It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on. I've always hated people leaving a certain relationship â" and at some point they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] â" so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other." Sam candidly told PEOPLE after filing for divorce last year: "That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life."
