Britney Spears' Friends Allegedly 'Concerned' With Son Jayden's Career Aspirations

Pop star Britney Spears is currently working on repairing her relationship with her son, Jayden James, 18.

The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer shares two children - Jayden and Sean Preston, 19, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

Jayden has reportedly reached out to his famous mother to repair their relationship, but friends of the pop star are concerned that he might have another "motivation" for reaching out.

Is Britney Spears' Son Jayden About To Follow Her Into A Music Career?

In her 2023 memoir, "The Woman In Me," Britney Spears hinted that she was ready to retire from music after what she went through during her controversial 13-year conservatorship that she was subject to from February 2008 to November 2021.

She has only released two songs since that time: "Hold Me Closer" with Sir Elton John and "Mind Your Business" with will.i.am. However, it seems that her son, Jayden, is interested in a music career, and has reached out to his mother for help getting his foot in the door.

Britney's Friends Question Her Son's Motivation For Reaching Out

In mid-November, a source spoke to the Daily Mail about Jayden's recent visit, hinting that those closest to the "Toxic" singer are worried that she might be taken advantage of.

"Jayden just turned 18 two months ago, and not long after, he reached out to Britney, saying he missed her and felt she had shown she was doing better," a source told the publication. "Everyone around her is cautiously optimistic."

They noted how the "Crossroads" actress was left "devastated" during a 2022 interview with U.K. broadcaster ITV, in which he criticized her behavior on social media and claimed that he had suffered "emotional trauma" from his peers due to her posts.

Britney Spears Reportedly Takes 'Full Credit' For Her Son's Musical Talent

A source went on to tell the publication that the estranged mother and son are bonding over their love of music. "She believes he's incredibly talented, and she takes full credit for his musical abilities," the insider said. "Jayden is determined to break into the music industry, and Britney is ready to give him every advantage."

Although her friends might be concerned that he is just using her name to break into the music industry, it seems that the "Circus" singer just wants to repair her fractured relationship with her son. "Whatever the motivation, Britney knows there's nothing she wouldn't do for her boys, and she's confident in that," the insider said.

They went on to add, "Jayden now has the key to the music industry, with the money and connections to make his dreams come true."

Britney Spears Also Wants To Reconnect With Her Son Sean

Both Sean Preston and Jayden James are over 18, which means that the child support payments are coming to an end. The Daily Mail reported that the pop star has been paying child support to her ex for approximately 17 years, with the payments totaling around $5 million dollars.

Given that K-Fed had physical custody of the boys for most of that time, Britney knows that she needs to take things "step by step" with both of her sons in order to mend their relationship.

"She is looking to get things back to some normalcy and would love to see if Sean wants to visit soon as well," the source explained. "She is taking it step by step though and just enjoying the simple things with Jayden, just hanging out, eating, talking, just getting some good mom time."

"Day by day is the process as their bond has been broken for so long that she wants to repair what is most important to her, and Jayden seems all for it," they added.

Britney Has Been Working On Her Relationship With Her Sons 'For Months'

Even though both boys left California in order to live with their father and stepmother in Hawaii, it seems that Britney has not given up on repairing their relationship. In June, another source told the Daily Mail that her brother, Bryan Spears, has been helping the singer repair her relationship with her children.

"Britney has been speaking to, and working on, her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months now," the insider said at the time. "The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them."

They went on to say, "Things are fully back on track and they are looking forward to the future together."
