Kristin Cavallari exposes ‘roller coaster’ text from Britney Spears after saying pop star was cloned: ‘Violation of trust’

Kristin Cavallari blasted Britney Spears for "ghosting" her after the pop superstar reached out to the "Laguna Beach" alum to arrange a meetup in Los Angeles.

However, Page Six has exclusively learned Spears did not mean to slight Cavallari.

The reality star, 37, said on her "Let's Be Honest" podcast Tuesday that she received the invitation after sharing a conspiracy theory last month that Spears, 42, had been cloned.

"I was scared," Cavallari admitted after receiving a text message from Spears and her manager. "I'm not going to lie. … They are f–king onto me, man. They didn't like that [cloning] podcast episode."

The "Hills" alum did not disclose what was in the text thread but claimed it was "a bit of a roller coaster."

"It was one of the more interesting texts I've ever received in my life," she added.

A source tells Page Six, however, that Spears was "complimentary and kind to Kristin" in the messages.

Following the group chat, Cavallari said she decided to text the Grammy winner separately, writing, "Hey, I'm hardly in LA anymore, but when I come in December, I'll let you know."

"Then she never f–king responded," the former MTV personality shared on her podcast, seemingly upset.

"You f–ked with the wrong girl," she added. "… Because to me, now, it was all bulls–t, which I thought from the jump. I was like, this does not seem genuine to me, and you just proved my point."

Cavallari received an invitation after saying in an earlier podcast episode that she thought Spears had been cloned. Let's Be Honest/YouTube "That's not Britney Spears [on social media]. I'm sorry, it's not Britney Spears. Go look at photos!" the "Hills" alum said in the Oct. 15 episode. Cavallari said she "doesn't play" Hollywood games, claiming she felt the initial group chat was a way to "manipulate" her into not sharing her conspiracy theories anymore.

"You're not trying to hang out and be a buddy; you're just trying to shut me the f–k up because I'm obviously onto something," she fumed.

Our source explains that Spears was unable to respond to the one-on-one text because she has been "out of the country," but she has "always been a big fan of Kristin's and that's why she wanted to connect."

The insider adds, "This feels like a huge violation of trust."

Page Six has reached out to reps for Spears and Cavallari for comment but did not hear back.

Despite sounding off on her podcast, Cavallari claims she still wants to be friends with the "Toxic" singer.

She said in Tuesday's episode, "I still want to hang out, Britney. I love you."

Spears has not commented on the podcast episode via her social media.
