"Before dinner red lips and delicious wine 👄🍷!!!"

According to a report by the Associated Press, Britney Spears' former husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023 after 14 months of marriage and nearly seven years of being together with the pop icon. He took to social media the same month, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the split.

"After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Asking for privacy seems rediculous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including the media to be kind and thoughtful," announced Asghari on Instagram.

Spears commented on the divorce a few days later, writing on Instagram:

"As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody's business. I've been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it's far from reality and I think we all know that."

The pair reached a settlement to end their marriage in May 2024. Spears and Asghari started dating in 2016 and got engaged in September 2022. After the termination of her conse rvatorship, the pair got married in what Spears described as a 'dream' wedding ceremony.

Britney Spears has been married thrice in her life, with two of them ending in divorces and one getting annulled. Her other two partners are Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.

An April 29, 2024 report by TMZ asserted that Britney Spears was in danger of going broke and was 'completely dysfunctional' with her finances. However, multiple sources across the internet debunked the rumor.

As per a report from Entertainment Tonight, Spears enjoys luxurious vacations and flies on private jets but is far from being bankrupt. On the contrary, the sales of her memoir The Woman in Me have been quite lucrative for the pop icon with major producers vying for rights of the same.

In April 2024, Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears settled their financial dispute nearly three years after the court terminated the pop icon's conservatorship.

Although the terms of the settlement weren't disclosed, Jamie wanted the legal fees to be paid for by Britney's estate, as per a report by ET. In 2021, Jamie requested the court, stating "prompt payment on account of Jamie's attorneys' fees is necessary to ensure the Conservatorship can be wound up quickly and efficiently to allow Britney to take control of her life as she and Jamie desire."

Britney's lawyer Matthew Rosengart opened up about his client's newfound freedom in a statement.

"As [Britney] desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter. Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored," read the statement in part.

In 2023, Spears changed her Instagram bio to 'XILA MARIA RIVER RED.' Although the singer never explained the cryptic change of name, she wrote a message alluding to the same in a now-deleted Instagram post (as per The Independent.)

"I see right through it all… it has liquid and is wet… it's playful and has mass!!! I changed my name to River Red!! "Yet the fire is where it illuminates… to stare at it and jump right in with no fear at all [sic]!!!!" Britney captioned the post before deleting it.

Some fan theories also pointed at 'Maria River Red' being an anagram of the phrase 'I've remarried.' However, there is no news of her tying the knot again after her split with Sam Asghari.
