Britney Spears to Regain Control of Finances? Father Reportedly Plans to Make ... - AOL Music (blog)

Britney Spears has made quite the turnaround in recent years. With the much-publicized craziness of her 20s finally behind her, the 30-year-old singer remains a major pop star, and when she ties the knot with former manager Jason Trawick, she'll enter into what promises to be her most stable marriage yet. As a reward for this good behavior, her father, Jamie, wants to give her back control of her finances, the Sunday Express reports.

According to the U.K. newspaper, Jamie is preparing to ask a judge to rescind the order that, since Brit's famous breakdown in 2008, has given him control over the popster's purse strings and personal affairs.

"Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries," a source told the paper.

The wedding, rumored to be scheduled for Valentine's Day in Maui, will be Spears' third. Her first marriage, a 2004 whirlwind Vegas adventure with childhood friend Jason Alexander, petered out after 55 hours, while the second, to dancer and sometime rapper Kevin Federline, lasted two years and produced sons Sean and Jayden.

In recent interviews, Britney has credited her father with helping her straighten out her life and earn back joint custody of the boys.
