Britney Spears is reportedly the newest judge on Simon Cowell's singing competition show ‘The X-Factor.’

Britney Spears isn't "Toxic" as far as Simon Cowell is concerned.

After months of rumors, the pop star has officially signed on to fill one of the vacant judges' seats on Cowell's "The X-Factor" next season with a contract worth $15 million, E! News reported.

The reality singing competition needed some bold-face names to fill the voids left after previous judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as host Steve Jones, were fired from the show in January. Spears will join holdovers L.A. Reid and Cowell.

"She's ready for this," a show insider told E! News. "She can't wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges' table and give this everything she's got. She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together."

Though a number of other singers have been linked to the show - including Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Pink and Whitney Houston, before her death in February - Spears has topped Cowell's wishlist since the end of "The X-Factor"'s first season.

“The fact that she’s one of the most talked about â€" not just pop stars, but people â€" in the world today means that you’ve got this star power,” Cowell told Billy Bush in February on “The Billy Bush Show.” “She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records, and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.”

Cowell could use the boost coming from a pop megastar who has twice sold more than 10 million copies of an album.

The former "American Idol" fixture predicted the Americanized version of his popular British show "The X Factor" would draw 20 million or more viewers in its debut season last fall.

It didn't, averaging closer to 12 million.
