Though theyâre the newbies on the judgesâ panel, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are so obviously the stars of the upcoming second season of The X Factor. The two pop gals were interviewed during their audition stop in Providence, Rhode Island, and the qâs were not necessarily all about their reality TV gig. (One Direction got a nice mention when Demi was asked if the rumors are true that sheâs dating the groupâs Niall Horan.)
Donât you just adore the way Demi is glowing while standing next to Brit? Weâd be swooning, too, if we got to breathe in the same air as Britney Spears, let alone work with her every single day. See what each pop star had to say below!
Britâs advice to contestants? âCome prepared, and do the training you need to do.â
How about being hot? Does that help? âI think it does help a little bit if the guy is somewhat handsome, but I feel for the most part, we try to boil it down to the talent.â How professional! Weâre glad to hear The X Factor crew are taking their judging job seriously.
As for Demi, she had no clue crushing peopleâs dreams would be so difficult. âI definitely didnât think it woulkd be this challenging because saying no to people is really hard and emotionally it messes with you a little bit,â she says. âItâs everything I expected and more with having fun and bonding with the cast, everyoneâs so sweet and awesome.â
Thereâs a rumor spreading that Demi is dating boy bander Niall Horan, but you can calm your nerves, 1D fans â" theyâre just friends. âNo, Iâm not [dating Niall],â she says with a smile. âHeâs really sweet and heâs one of my really good friends now, but no, Iâm single at the moment, and I plan to be for a long time, because I need to focus on my career and myself and my well-being before I think about getting into a relationship.â
How about her platonic relationships with the other judges? âEveryoneâs really great except Simon [Cowell]â, semi-jokes Demi as Simon laughs in the background. âHe does tease me a lot, but I give it back to him, I donât mind⦠heâs sometimes not very nice to me, but I have fun with him.â
Demiâs got a bigger spot in her heart for Britney. âI grew up listening to her so itâs really awesome to be able to sit next to her on the panel,â she says. Brit returns the love: âThe same for her, too, I totally admire her work and everything that sheâs done.â
She even counts on Demi to help her out with topics sheâs not so sure about: âI donât even know who is considered a good rapper, cause I donât listen to rap music, and I was like [to Demi], âIs that good?ââ
Demi apparently shares Britâs ignorance of the genre of rap. âI was like, âHe talks fast and he sounds good, so yeah!ââ
This is kind of precious, but laaaaaadies. Get yourself some Biggie, Eminem and Beastie Boys albums and educate yourselves.
