Britney Spears' Family Are Reportedly 'Deeply Concerned' About Her Health

Britney Spears

Earlier this month, Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari sparked divorce rumors after she was spotted allegedly having a meltdown while at dinner together, less than one year after tying the knot in an intimate yet star-studded ceremony in California. And now, it's being reported that the 41-year-old "Gimme More" singer's family are growing more and more concerned about her wellbeing, especially as the intervention that was planned for this month was stopped in its tracks by an unnamed party.

Britney Spears' Family Growing Concerned About Her Wellbeing Following Failed Intervention

Although the "Toxic" singer appears to be putting on a brave face, having been papped looking happy and care-free while heading out to dinner at Nobu in Malibu on Sunday, February 19th with husband Sam, 28, and her manager Cade Hudson, things aren't looking so good behind closed doors, if we are to believe the reports.

According to TMZ, the Iranian fitness instructor and some other members of Britney's inner circle, which may include some family members, planned an intervention earlier this month amid growing concerns over her "life threatening" mental health struggles and substance abuse, as well as the fact that she doesn't appear to be taking her medication. However, the intervention was called off by an unnamed person, with a close friend of the Grammy winner spilling to TMZ that those who wanted the intervention to go ahead are furious, with the insider saying they're "afraid she's gonna die" if she doesn't get help soon.

TMZ's sources claimed that the plan was to take the "Stronger" singer to a house in Los Angeles which her manager rented for a few months, where her husband, manager, an interventionist, and several doctors would be on hand to help her realize that she needs help. It's currently unknown which members of Britney's family were involved, but her father, Jamie Spears, mother, Lynne Spears, and two sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, were not believed to be among them. We sure would love to know the identities of the people *for* and *against* the intervention!

What Have Insiders Said About Britney's Health Status?

One insider previously told TMZ that "the intervention was long overdue. She is very much a danger to herself and those around her. It's a ticking time bomb." Another person in Britney's inner circle allegedly added: "I worry about waking up in the morning and feeling like I'm going to get a horrible phone call."

Another insider, who again, spoke to TMZ about their concerns for the "Hold Me Closer" singer, noted how she is acting very similar to how she did in 2008, the same year her 13-year conservatorship started. "This is 2008 all over again. There is serious fear she is either going to die or kill someone," the insider said.

"She is abusing caffeine, Adderall, and anything she can get her hands on," they continued. "She is not taking her medication, which is essential to stabilize her mood and is unknowingly trying to self-medicate with other substances, which is exacerbating her mental illness."

"She has unbelievable untreated trauma that with the help of therapists and specialists could put her in a much better place. An intervention is essential to make that happen."

Britney Spears' Recent Erratic Behavior On Instagram

There have been many troubling Instagram posts over the past few weeks, with the video the six-time MTV VMA winner posted on February 21st being one of the more head-scratching ones. In the video, which has the comments section turned off, Britney can be heard talking to the camera in an Australian/British accent about a dress she and her friend made, before going on to talk incoherently about someone sending her "a dress I didn't have to make myself," and then posing and dancing around with the dress.

The "Womanizer" singer also references the moment fans called the cops to her house after they were worried about her after she deleted her Instagram account, and said, "So guys, I just want you to know if I shut down my Instagram, do not call the cops. Don't ever be a rollercoaster."
