Britney Spears is celebrating one year of her first-ever memoir.

On Monday, Oct. 28, the pop star, 42, celebrated the anniversary of her book The Woman in Me — released Oct. 24, 2023 — on X (formerly Twitter).

The Woman in Me chronicles Spears' journey from child star to pop icon, from the highs (music videos, award shows and smash albums) to the lows (her 13-year court-ordered conservatorship, which was terminated in November 2021). She also reflects on experiences she had with her peers and mentors over the years.

"It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out, and my fans deserve to hear it directly from me," Spears told PEOPLE in an exclusive October 2022 cover story. "No more conspiracy, no more lies — just me owning my past, present and future."

She also revealed that she hoped the book would encourage people to "speak up. Be loud. Know your worth. Inspire people and most of all, just be kind."

Prior to its release, according to a press release from Gallery Books, the "Toxic" singer's memoir "illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms."

It also showed "her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,"

Spears often celebrates herself on social media, and on Oct. 20, she shared a video on Instagram of herself in a wedding dress and told her fans that she had "married myself."

Spears, donning an ivory gown and veil, posed for the camera while smiling in the clip as Sting's "Fields of Gold" played in the background.

"The day I married myself … Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it's the most brilliant thing I've ever done !!!" the Crossroads star captioned the post.
